West Bromwich Albion FC / Re: Tony Mowbray appointed as Head Coach
« on: February 16, 2025, 11:42:01 AM »

TM didn't have much choice in it

Ask people who were on the this board at the time Baggie79 & Benj

I was about at the time on another account with a now defunct email address and a mystery password ;D, there was a mix of people fuming that he told players to "stay loyal" and then buggered off along with us in the "happy clapper brigade" who where gutted but understood the pull to celtic for him. I dont remember that much discontent about him over that season and large majority wanted him to stay and have another go. A lot of goodwill generated from the previous season.

The forum format is mainly a thing of the past for people now with social media, i think dotcom is still one of the most active boards for west mids teams (i dont really check other teams forums apart nowadays)  but back then it was diffirent, i remember the community aspect of this very well, met some class people over the years from here, also unforuntaley met TheFlash but i will leave it there.

I know he has a contract. I meant sell or loan him.

To who?

West Bromwich Albion FC / Re: People leaving early
« on: January 28, 2025, 12:02:17 PM »
I would only leave early on the following criteria - we are dead and buried and i have something to do after the game. I very rarely book anything in for 3 hours after the game so after match congestion doesnt effect me, of course unless im doing something with the in laws as ive been known to get "stuck" for up to 5 hours at time, luckily allways a pub to shelter in  8)

This just highlights that we aren’t anywhere as good as people seem to think, my expectations were tempered before the season started and overall I think we are having a good season . We just aren’t the same club we were under sir Jeremy peace

Agreed, pretty surprised at the reaction. He did a really incredible job at Burnley, taking them to higher highs than we ever experienced in the premier. Then at Everton he did very well to keep them up when he came in, and again the next season without any danger, given the lack of investment in their squad the last few seasons and ownership uncertainties.

Both seasons he got Burnley promoted in the championship they scored 72 goals, its not like they were supremely dull. They became a different style of team in the premier league, but then what other choice did they have? They spent very little under Dyche in comparison to others in the league, including ourselves.

The reality is it'd be Dyche not giving us the time of day, not the other way round. He'll happily wait for a relegation threatened premier league club, or a relegated club in the championship for his next job. Not us.

Well put and totally agree. Id be very happy with dyche

Though I am very happy with palmer between the sticks, if we had a good offer come in that suited us, I wouldn’t be devedtsted if he left

The compensation we’ve had from cc going could be the difference between keeping and selling fellows/maja, I’d rather keep them and have brunt and abella at the helm then get somebody else and lose one or both of the players

Thought it was common knowledge they had a big disagreement Saturday , didn’t see it but I heard Molumby had to get between them

Hasnt that come from a account on twitter that is notoriousfor making stuff up?

My Leeds mate is dreading this and reckons were going to hammer them as they are diabolocal at the moment....can tell he has no idea what's going on with us at the moment. Even after I told him in derail and mentioned our terrible away form he's revised his prediction to 3-1 to us..
