A poor day for us. Sunderland defended very well in the first half, BTA was rightly sent off for two yellows, and we never created a clear chance all game.

Our overall discipline was below par too.

We should still qualify for the playoffs but a disappointing day all round.

The better team on the day took the points.

Well, all down to BTA that for me, 2 yellow cards that were deserved.

Very unprofessional, just hot headed. Cost us the game.

Thankfully no one apart from Hull won from 7th to 10th place.

We were bound to lose sometime I wouldn't change our position with those below and not too much damage done.

Another poor performance with a style of play that gets more boring by the match, we wasted 20 minutes of the 1st half watching Bartley with his foot on the ball at the half way line. Brainless red card for Asante, we have so many players out of form I struggle to see how we'll compete in the play offs.

Don’t think it would have been today, were it not for BTA getting sent off as Sunderland were a poor side.

Brandon won Sunderland those points today for being unable to trap a ball, after the team were in total control of game. That being said criminal that we couldn’t defend those final few seconds with Townsend letting his man have the freedom of the Hawthorns. Result today would have  probably cemented our position in 5th now we are looking over our shoulder at Norwich who are point behind. Nice one BTA.

BTA's contribution didn't help at all, but we were struggling to break them down before that. We created very few clear cut chances. Even when our wingers get in behind, their crosses are not being converted.

Agree with this. Sunderland are in decline. Just another champo team now. Once they lose Clarke i can see them struggling next season if they don't re-invest well.

If we drop to 6th in table does that mean we play 3rd?

In that case it will be Leeds which will be tough but I suppose same can be said of Southampton.

Or Leicester, or Ipswich or possibly Southampton. All difficult.

As soon as Assante was sent off I had the feeling we were going to lose.

Having a man down really showed when Sunderland were keeping and passing the ball around quite well. We were disappointing not being able create any openings even before the sending off, apart from having some promising possession at times.

Very unprofessional today. Ok Ballard did for Maja at their place but to lose a game because players seemed to have a vendetta against was crazy. BTA getting sent off cost us and Wallace who should know better getting booked for a foul on the same player is just amateurish.

Agree with this. Instead of it being WBA vs Sunderland FC as it should have been, it seemed more like WBA FC players v Ballard. Very unprofessional.

I felt like I was watching a Sunday league pub team rather than a highly paid Championship team of professionals. Not good enough.
