Matty at Gillingham, Joe at Arsenal and Chris with us

Ah, they called Chris Willock on TakSport which confused me!

Utd 3-0 up against Chelsea. Chelsea had more possession and more shots. That aside the Beeb's background shot of Rashford scoring shows all the tourists taking pictures on their phones. Sums the Premier League up.

Norwich were the luckiest side ever last year, they will not survive this season. If Pukki  gets 8 I’ll 8 my hat.

That hat might be coming out your other end before September at this rate.

I hate VAR. Goal line technology, great, but VAR spoils the spectacle for fans. Leave it to the ref that's what he's there for. OK sometimes they get the decisions wrong but that's life, take it on the chin. Another day the decisions will go your way.

I'm all for technology i just think it's being used wrongly.

I think it should be appeals as in cricket and tennis. 3 each, and if you're right you keep the appeal. Something like tonight that nobody has spotted really and is questionable - nope, not for me. But today it's the handball rule that is under the spotlight.

Whatever my opinions on VAR, it wasn’t the problem then, the rule was. The rule is a joke.

The rule is the rule. Biggest issue today was not reviewing the Rodri penalty claim.

Looked like a perfectly good goal. No appeals from players. Nothing from the officials. Nothing deliberate about the handball. Not a positive change as I see it.

Deliberate handball: one of the most common fan/pundit invented Association Football rules (laws).

It’s a massive concern
Not VAR.....my agreeing with Jacko again😁

There is no “deliberate” handball rule

I was commenting purely as an observer. Maradona.. obviously deliberate. Whoever the City bloke was last night..accidental. J-Rod...deliberately accidental. :D

Another hot take (guess who is watching the footy this afternoon) Palace are bad seriously bad. Old slow and a team that is largely living off reputation.

I think Palace & Newcastle are going down this season. As much as a good manager Roy is I think these days players tune managers out after 1 1/2 years and I’d imagine Roy’s training sessions involve a lot of team shape drills etc. You saw at Albion how the players downed tools on Pulis clearly the’d had enough of repeating the same thing over and over I think the same will happen at Palace, the’l then try and hire a more forward thinking manager but don’t have the players to play that style of football, the summer recruitment looks very poor as well.

Refreshing to see the teams that have come up (Norwich & Sheffield United) really giving it a go, Norwich blew Newcastle away yesterday I think the’l both stop up (Sheffield United by the skin of their teeth) hopefully it’s a different story for Villa.

I think relegation is tough to call this season. There are probably 10 teams who could potentially get caught in a battle to stay up. Of those, I would think Bournemouth and Burnley are the most likely to be comfortably safe, and after them probably Watford too. That leaves the three promoted teams, Palace, Newcastle, Brighton and Saints.

Personally I think Palace have too much genuine quality in Zaha, Townsend, Sakho, Van Aanholt and Milivojevic amongst others and will stay up. I also think Sheff Utd will be a very difficult team to beat (at home especially) and will do enough to survive.

So I'm guessing 3 relegation places from 5 clubs: Brighton, Southampton, Newcastle, Norwich and Villa.

Of those Villa are the least prepared to stay up and I expect them to go down. From the other 4 you can almost take your pick, it's quite hard to call which 2 will join the Seals.

Didn't see the game. Presuming there was no one stood there. It's like having new floodlights at a stadium that's in constant daylight. Worthless until official standing comes back. Railed seating could probably be fitted at most grounds without much fuss. Big deal.

You've obviously never seen the South Bank

You're more likely to get escorted out for sitting in there
