Have to echo the last few comments. Given all the adversity he has had to reckon with, brilliant job by Carlos this season. Whatever happens in the play offs (yes, we will definitely be in them), I hope he hangs around next season to continue the rebuild.

I am seriously hopeful that whatever happens this season, CC will be with us again next season...

this time with an Owner who will support him in the rebuilding

As to the Manager of the Year, I reckon Kieran McKenna has won it, and all the other nominees (or not nominees) are just thrown in to make people pay attention :)

Think he played a while for Southampton

I don't think we played Southampton during the period he was there...

But we did play Wigan in 1991 when he was there on Loan.

EDIT He was at Grimsby  '96 to '99  so most likely then :)

The Birmingham Mail have just issued the predicted line up.

Pathetic from Carlos (if true), no respect for the cup and it’s not like we have a midweek game before or after to justify this line up.

How is it pathetic from Carlos?

It is a newspapers guess on who we might play!

Maybe say it is just a pathetic selection by the Birmingham Mail

I thought it was less than that too.

Someone watching on TV maybe able to time it.

I have seen a timing of it..   19 seconds

Sorry as being Australian I may have missed a bit but..

Wouldn't any English club that joined a "Breakaway" competition be prevented from playing any Home matches?

Visiting sides would need Visas to enter England and without Domestic recognition of the Competition, wouldn't that be barred?

or is that just rules for down here..

African teams on course for potentially their best ever world cup. Only the second time having 2 nations in the last 16 of a tournament, with Morocco looking a genuine threat, while Ghama could yet make it 3 (a record for a nation outside Europe and South America).

Three teams from Asia for the 1st time.

They'd rather pass cannon balls wrapped in barbed wire through their anal canals than support us in any sport. I'd only wish them well if they were playing Wales, Scotland, Germany or Argentina. Or maybe Qatar at a genuinely hard push.

As an Australian I'm not really sure that you're correct....

Most Aussies would "rather pass cannon balls wrapped in barbed wire through their anal canals than"  lose to England in any Sport BUT....

My 2nd team is England...   :D

Sadly, for him, he has not been included in the Australian World Cup squad.

So more time on the training pitch with CC

This is extremely concerning, who’s to even say this loan will go into the transfer budget, I’m no finance expert but I guess the club could take the loan out & then Lai take the money out of the club at the ridiculous interest rate he gave himself on the £4.9m loan.

Unlikely as why in heavens name would MSD holdings loan money to the club without some sort of guarantee that it would be used to improve the club... so that it could be repaid.

Carlos Corberan? The job he did with Huddersfield last season was on a par with Steve Cooper at Forest.

He record at Olympiacos isn't good... but i don't know the details

Castro returning

https://www.burtonalbionfc.co.uk/news/2022/september/0109-castro/

QUEVIN Castro has left Burton Albion after his loan deal was cancelled by mutual consent.

The Portuguese player joined the Brewers on loan from West Brom in July after coming through the youth system at Sporting Lisbon.

However, he found opportunities limited with the Brewers and has made only one league start for the club.

His last game was Tuesday’s night’s 4-2 victory over Leicester City U21s in the Papa Johns Trophy and he now returns to his parent club.

I didn't expect a Scott Parker managed side to do so well. I see him as an ordinary manager who has fell into favourable jobs, but this is a remarkable run for Bournemouth.

I get the feeling that it has all been pretty easy for him....

so I am interested to see, after a couple of bad result (which I am sure will come at some point), if he can get them back up and firing again....

My gut feeling is... no he won't...

I doubt it. All he needs to claim is a none player was running up to him on the pitch or a team mate and he acted in self defence. The steward should not be on the pitch.

well if he claims that in the heat of the moment he didn't perceive the intruder was there  (rewatch his action as if the guy wasn't on the field)

then he is actually only protecting Livermore from a non player who looks to be trying to stop Jake from joining the goal celebration.

My son found this tweet

https://twitter.com/thebaggiesbible/status/1431727914391941331?s=21

Note somebody with an irish name pushing over a steward to let the fan who invaded the pitch escape back to the stand - lol

so who was the invader?

Mowatt hugs him

Livermore blocks off the steward

afore mention  irishman  puts steward to the ground and get a yellow for it.

Insert a clause into the rules "a player must always be trying to maintain their feet and continue to play on"

Related to it is playacting, with Immobile providing one of the most blatant examples when he suddenly jumped to his feet to celebrate an Italy goal. That got such widespread coverage, you'd hope he was seriously embarassed about it.

Personally I would like to have seen that goal ruled out as he was faking injury in front of the goal/keeper and should be deemed to have interfered with play..

I just hate it  >:(

Just a thought: could any muslim player wear a shirt with an old testament psalm written on it?  What are they thinking!

Taken from Wikipedia.....

According to the Islamic Holy book, the Qur'an, God has sent many messengers to mankind. Five universally acknowledged messengers (rasul) are Abraham, Moses, David, Jesus and Muhammad,[68] each believed to have been sent with a scripture. Muslims believe David (Dāwūd) received Psalms [69] (cf. Q38:28); Jesus (Īsā) the Gospel; Muhammad received the Qur'an; Abraham (Ibrahim) the Scrolls of Abraham; and Moses (Mūsā) the Torah.[70] God is considered to have authored the psalms. [71]

Several other potential managers have turned us down

So which is it?

The club changed tack on Wilder... not him turning us down...
Wagner was already in negotiation before his name was ever mentioned  and yes his agent probably used the media.. so again not really turning us down..

Lampard, I agree did.. said a no out right to the idea ... maybe did Appleton too

but who else genuinely turn us down?

where are your "several"?
