Didn't play too badly from about 20 minutes in. Livermore is terrible and missed an open goal. HRK a handful. Brunt pulling the strings and Mozza looking lively. Rodriguez struggling wide left as he did throughout last season. Would expect to push on and win the game in the 2nd half.

“Robson-Kanu’s header on the stroke of half-time gets Albion back in it.

Excellent game to be fair. Attacks definitely on top. Could easily be 4-3.”

I'm not so sure about that. It's competitive but we've looked a bit toothless and disjointed for most of that half. Hardly created anything to warrant scoring three.  GK gifted us a tap-in and then pulled off a wonder save for rectify his own error, looked like we might scramble one in from a corner and then scored from a free kick but not from open play looked particularly fluid. Granted just a friendly. 2-1 is about right at HT.

Not sure who's more biased ?

You in favour of Brunt or baggie82 against Gibbs

Brunt out wide, Rodriguez behind Robson-Kanu, no square pegs, sorted.

Same old square pegs!!

Bond looked awful, Nyom not really interested, Bartley looks good, Dawson we must keep him, Gibbs thinks he is better than champ, Livermore looks awful being played further back AGAIN, Brunt looks tired but still great delivery, Mozza is not even a pub player and still nowhere near fit, JRod is a STRIKER, Phillips not looking interested but has talent, Robson Kanu is not actually a footballer.

Apart from that and the poor style of play I am really looking forward to the new season.

2nd Half

“Two changes at the break.

Hegazi and Melbourne for Dawson - who was excellent - and Gibbs.”

3-2 now. We are so much better than these. I missed first 15 mins but we've looked pretty good I think.

2 all?

Defensive balls up by them Morrison lashes home. Phillips just murdered them down the wing, cross from hrk own goal. All Rosie again

I know it's a friendly but big dave tactics in this really worry me for the season. Brunt can't be playing cm and Rodriquez shouldn't be wide left. I don't want to be arrogant but surely our days of packing 5 in midfield away from home have to be numbered

Strange game. Equalised as soon as we kicked off and then comical own goal puts us 3-2 infront. Barnsley striker getting a bit heated with HRK. Predicting more goals.

Hegazi looks so comfortable on the ball compared to Bartley. Might be because he has been playing at the World cup so has more match practice.

Don't tell me you actually rate Gibbs or have been impressed with his performances for us? Really don't think bias is affecting my judgement of him. He's better than Andy McDermott, beyond that I'm struggling to say anything positive.

Hegazi (who I am not a massive fan of) looks more assured than Bartley and a few others. At least he's not scared of his own shadow.

Barnsley own goal.

Cavare turns Phillips cross past his own keeper.

What a turnaround.

Why are we still giving Martin Craine a game? It's gone beyond us just having him for fitness now surely?

He's been 6.5 out of 10 for me, better than anything else we've got at left back, he's not been shocking but not outstanding either. I do think you have been way over critical of him.

This Barnes looks the business. First touch is always forward and he always wants the ball. Type of player to make things happen.

On comes Rondon.

Bond just made a decent save
With regards to cranie I can only speculate we are genuinely looking to sign him.

No Barry in the squad today is he injured or is somebody taking him off our hands?
No Burke either which is quite strange

We look much better now with the sub. Marcus Rashford lookalike (not sure who he even is?) who looks dangerous for us.

Two good saves from Bond, much better performance from him second half. Barnsley pressing now with Livermore & Brunt not closing down on the edge of the box, shots coming in from 20 yards dangerous. Rondon on, yet to touch the ball.

Barry and Burke, along with Johnstone apparently played in a behind-closed-doors friendly against Brentford I think I read somewhere.

Brunt off for Harper, surprised he hasn't been on sooner. Brunt looks like a footballing OAP, albeit still got a decent left foot from free kicks.
