"@SouthamptonFC
Welcome, @S_Mvrv

#SaintsFC is delighted to confirm the signing of Sékou Mara from @girondins
, subject to international clearance:"

I'm guessing this new striker pushes Armstrong further down the order there?

I hope so.

Armstrong is the one who I would like at Albion.

I did when he was at Blackburn

There are probably 30 strikers that would be better fits than grab an (and more likely)

Nottingham Forest have spent, so far, in excess of £70m I believe and they aren’t finished yet according to some sports journalists.

It’s a huge risk and gamble, but is it worth it? Time will tell

big test for cooper, can he meld another team together ? Hopefully the club havent purchased big ego's and he can, would be great to see another succesful english manager

Cooper is Welsh. I agree though that it will be great to see another successful British manager. Not many are given opportunities at the top level

Nottingham Forest have agreed a deal in principle to sign 24-year-old Belgium midfielder Orel Mangala from Stuttgart for £12.75m.

The spending continues

I'm not sure about Forest now. Typically, the teams that stay up have a good core and add a few key signings without going overboard. Their style reminds me a bit of Fulham a couple of seasons ago when they spent like crazy. Very rarely does it work and it's near impossible for a bunch of players to instantly click, despite how good they are.

I think it's part of the Forest plan. They will likely come down, then they will likely go back up. Repeat the process until you are solidified PL. A bit like a more reckless Jeremy Peace slowbuild with no patience though  ;D

I don't think Norwich net spend is that high myself. I'd say Norwich/WBA on crack.

It's the Fulham model. Sign a new squad when you're up. Loan or sell them when you get relegated, but you've got a squad way too good for the Championship.

Probably a better way of what i'm trying to say. PL every other season at worse. They have a very good manager though so they might succeed long term IF they don't turn on him when the going gets tough, which it will.

It's also similar to the Leeds model which has worked for them, albeit they had a strong nucleus from the championship and I'm less convinced Forest do.

Well another we can cross off:

"Fabrizio Romano
@FabrizioRomano
Nottingham Forest top priority for the midfield is William Carvalho. Talks on - been told there’s strong interest in the Portuguese midfielder. 🚨🇵🇹 #NFFC

Huge opportunity for William in the Premier League with ambitious club like NFFC, pushing to sign him as priority target."

My days, we were linked with him for so long his player profile picture may as well have been a cave painting.

It is, next to Dindanes, scouting and transfer team still deciding if he's still worth going for.

Talking of Dindane he's probably fossilised by now  ;D .

Just saw this from yesterday while on subject of Forest transfer frenzy

"Joseph Perry
@mrjosephperry
EXCLUSIVE: understand Nottingham Forest are holding out for an £8m-10m front-of-shirt sponsorship deal after rebuffing at least two multi-million-pound offers. Club could start season without a sponsor (or donate it to a charity). #nffc"

Holding out for what they want is risky and ballsy. Trying to become one of the big boys

They will have their wish next season...back in the Championship.

I always quite rated McNeil but an Everton supporting friend of mine posted his stats on twitter and for an attacking winger, they're not impressive. In the last four full premier league seasons he's played 20+ games for Burnley but never scored more than 3 goals in a season. None at all last season despite 38 appearances. Thats pretty poor.

Surprising move for Burnley - set to sign Brazilian right back Vitinho from Cercle Brugge. It’s done, agreement in place, been told it will be official soon. Medical already completed 🚨🇧🇷 #transfers

Contract until June 2026 agreed, as Kompany wanted Vitinho as priority target.

Never heard of him.

I do like McNeil from the games i've seen him play and those stats are very surprising. Maybe they betray his contributions a little.
