No way was I paying £50 for an away membership. Turns out I qualify for a ticket on Monday morning anyway. Not looking forward to the online purchase process though. At all......

Good luck chap, you'll need it, people saying it is a nightmare.

I got the away membership as a present from the missus, I think she is trying to tell me something.  :o

Here I am again all excited and over-optimistic about The Albion's prospects for the coming season.

However I'm calming myself down reasoning that Bournemouth won 5-0 in the Carabao cup in the mid-week and they have a settled team whereas we are a team in transition.  It might take more than one or two seasons for system change from the get out of the Championship with ageing, mercenary players acquired on high wages, a scheme thatoften gets us straight back within one or two seasons.

Delighted if our yet protean team gets anything out of Friday's encounter.

Couldn’t make the game when sky moved it to the Friday night.

The only positive is that I do not have to deal with that awful ticketing system.

Bournemouth will be top 6 for me, so not a game we should be devastated about, should we lose.
As has been said, they have a far more settled side, with a Champ season under their belt. That being said, no reason why we can't get something.

Well here we go. Got the loyalty points but the site's showing it as restricted offer so I can't access it (farcical). In the call queue at number 20 on the fourth attempt since ringing from bang on 10am.

Awful system

Finally got through. Whilst waiting as number nine in the queue access to the tickets was granted. Got onto the seating plan, chose my seat, went to pay and got an error code. Tried again and got locked out.

Good job I stayed in the call queue as the ticket got sorted straight away. Thanked the phone operator and hung up. Went to log out of the ticket site and was again offered access to the seating plan.

Very strange set up. And now I can't log out of my account for love nor money. Complete farce. All of the very best at the jumble sales by the way  ;D  ;) .

I always have this issue! I went and got mine direct from the ticket office Friday, think ill carry on doing that until they make the site slightly better.

Based on VI 3 4 3;

                   Button

          Ajayi Bartley Clarke

Furlong mowattt Livermore Townsend

      Diangana Robinson Grant

I would have liked to have seen palmer get a go but looks like VI going with experience as it stands happy to give Button a go. For the back 3 and the high line and press its imperative we play ajayi for his pace otherwise sides with quick strikers will bypass the press. The worst thing is seeing livermore cm (in this system he gets around more than sawyers) maybe castro will get game time further on. We crying for cm.

Fluid mobile front 3 but really lacking an out an out striker. Will we get a tune out of Big Ken? Regardless we need a cf so we have other options.

Would take a point first game

O Albion we love you

I would go (providing all are fit and available) :

                  Button

   OShea   Bartley   Clarke

Furlong Livermore Mowatt Townsend

   Diangana Phillips Grant

Subs: Palmer, Ajayi, Kipre, Sawyers, Robinson, Zohore, Tulloch.

I think I’d want Ajayi in my back line to be honest - none of O’Shea, Bartley or Clarke have that recovery pace which is required for a side which intends to do an aggressive press.

Other than that, the side picks itself, as shown by beecyboy

Yeah i'm with Beccyboy, Ajayi has to play for me as he's the only quick one.

                  Button

   Ajayi   Bartley   Clarke

Furlong Livermore Mowatt Townsend

   Diangana Phillips (if fit) Grant

Subs: Palmer, O'Shea, Gardner-Hickman, Reach, Castro, Robinson, Zohore.

If Phillips isn't fit then Zohore to start and Tulloch on the bench.

If you take each of those player's (starting 11) last season in the Champ, it would total 51 goals, which sounds rubbish but Swansea finished 4th with 56. Watford 2nd with 63.
Add in, Reach, OShea, Tulloch, Robinson and Zohore, plus inevitable newcomers, and we may not be as short on goals as we think.

I still have no doubt, whatsoever, that we will finish top 6, minimum.  ;)

I'd also agree with Beachy boy.

The fact it picks itself so easily highlights some of lack of depth though.

My ticket arrived earlier this morning apparently. Credit where it's due, just under a 24 hour turn around from an over the phone order to delivery.

Which is about how long it felt I was online for when trying to renew our season tickets. Sort the ticket site please Albion.

An online purchase should always be quicker and easier than waiting in a call queue. It really isn't expecting too much.

Bournemouth will be top 4 for me.
I'm predicting a 3-1 defeat but hopefully I'm wrong.
Still too many gaping holes in our side at the moment.
I would take 6th now.

There were quite a few gaping holes between our midfield and the back three in the opening 20 - 30 minutes against Blues too......  :-X .

What holes do you see in the team?
For me, we need a starting centre forward and maybe another CM.

We could do with cover for RWB but that's all (even then Phillips can cover there)

Reach is out - Not yet fit enough
Castro out - Dislocated shoulder
Gardner-Hickman out - Minor knock

Snodgrass, Johnstone and Pereira we know about. Everyone else should be ok.
