For me this is a free hit. A loss wouldn't be a disaster as very few teams will come from there with anything. If we get a point its a bonus

Both sides would probably settled for 0-0.    So a seven goal thriller then.

No free hit for me. We proved at their place that we are more than a match for them and would have won it if we had a striker and Townsend had not switched off at the back post as ever to let them score the winner. We dominated large parts of it and I would back us against anyone at home, particularly in the form we are in and with the attacking options we now seem to have.

At home we are generally stronger, don't see why we should be expected to lose.

I agree this not a free hit, if we lose the gap could be cut short on Saturday & based on the Cardiff game I can't see anything but an away win, we need Grady back asap & we need to have more energy about us move the ball quicker once we do have it (which won't be often) and if Swift plays none of his casual nonsense and or trying to control the ball when he should just shoot!

Not if Coventry, Sunderland, Norwich, Ipswich etc. pick up 3 points. All this, I'll take a draw stuff, only works if our promotion rivals all do likewise.

Agreed, our away form isn't good enough to be settling for a point at home.

Think this game will suit us more as saints will come and go toe to toe with us. We struggled v the pulls style defending last night. Hopefully a team with tempo and ambition will leave us more gaps to take advantage of.

Based on our record this season. We need to score first

I watched the first half of Bristol vs Southampton last Tuesday evening until called away by my better half.  Soton were playing really well and all over Bristol City.  I couldn't believe the final result.

They will be motivated to not let slip their dominance at the Hawthorns.  Walker-Peters and Brooks looked sharp and Brooks is tricky. I hope that Cedric can move over to the left of defence to help Townsend or Pieters at LB.

Edozie is a handful for Furlong on their left backed-up by Rothwell who impressed me when he played for Blackburn against us.

At the back Harwood-Bellis and Bednarek are both confident on he ball.

All in all, a much bigger test than Cardiff City
