Seems a good move for him - his versatility will ensure clubs are still interested in him for a while yet ....though the prem days are probably over.

Did a decent job for us last season, despite some on here saying he was absolute rubbish. Will do a job for Derby for another season. All the best Chris

To be fair he did OK last season for us. However he was signed from the Championship and released back to the Championship. This says it all for me.

A good signing for Derby. Baird never let us down when playing for us, always did a decent job but we probably signed him a few years too late as the Championship is probably his natural level now. Nowhere near as bad of a signing as some might have you think, did better than the likes of Gamboa and Blanco who were useless signings. Good luck Chris.

Solid, versatile. Will be a decent replacement for John Eustace for them

It's a pity we didn't sign him earlier in his career and that we only saw him in his twighlight years. A good pro, no trouble to the club, kept his head down and got on with it, he also came across as a decent bloke.

I always thought he was dependable and read a game well when called upon and rarely let us down, but like all players, he could have the occasional "bad day in the office".

Still, I wish him well in his new venture and hope he gets as much game time as possible.

If you look at who we actually signed last summer considering the angry/Dissapointed reactions the Baird signing received he was one of the better ones along with Lescott and Gardner. Best of luck to the bloke because he served us well when called upon.

Agreed. I can‘t think of many domestic signings that we‘ve made that haven‘t worked out to some degree. It‘s our overseas ones that have left a lot to be desired.

Baird was a regressive signing who had little impact. Sorry.

Don't be sorry, he was sh**e and everytime he appeared on a team-sheet or the touchline your heart sank a little.

Ha. Yes, this was what I was trying to say in all honesty. Chris Baird "did a job" in the same sense that a chocolate teapot would.

He summed up our pathetic recruitment policy for the last two seasons - cheap, available, could fill in a few positions...not good enough!!!

Not his fault...way past his best, and did try, but was woefully short of the standard needed!
