West Bromwich Albion FC / Re: What's this takeover news?
« on: November 24, 2020, 12:17:33 AM »
The Man U owners are taking out £20 million a year in dividends effectively cashing in their 20 year dominance on the sly
how do they take a dividend from a loss? The club is in nearly £500m debt and made a net loss of £23m last financial year?

Anyone defending his diving yesterday needs to give their head a wobble. He’s an exceptionally talented player who we are lucky to have, but this part of his game needs sorting out. His actions yesterday were totally embarrassing.

Had a blinder last night apparently.
What could have been had Bilic been here at the same time as Gnabry
probably the same as under pulis, he was kid who wasn’t good enough for premier league football, he struggled in the cup game against lower league opposition, fair play to him he’s got his head down and worked hard

But players setting up a militant gang to dislodge a manager is ok ?
Hegazi causing trouble at the training ground is ok ?

But an 18 year old taking advice from his agent and trying to secure his future for himself and all of his family for life....and he should be binned?
How much loyalty do you think any of the rest of them would have at 1k per week?
getting bored of his agent being blamed, his agent is employed by him to act on his behalf and within his interests, if he wanted to stay he’d have signed, if he wanted to stay he’d have told his employee the way to act. Bilic’s comments yesterday about only wanting to talk about players who want to be at club spoke volumes about Ferguson’s commitment to the club.

Funny you say that BaggieBirdRus, just seen this on Twitter a few minutes ago...

"Ok just got this. Don’t shoot the messenger . I have it from a very good source that Ferguson was in tears today at West Brom training ground. Either it was sad goodbyes or it’s gone tits up. I’m going for the latter #cpfc" = Hoarthy [@brumeagle]
surely he wouldn’t have been at the training ground today? Wasn’t he in London today, Roy mentioned one his interview it was close.

If it’s 10mil and that goes towards us getting in a striker I’m happy with that.

He's probably better leaving for the sake of his career.

I don't see a scenario where he will play any minutes for us in the league - especially if we are promoted.

I would have thought we might have loaned him out now, but seemingly not.

He should take one look at Harper and swerve it.
I agree, much like Chris Wood at the time, he wasn’t good enough for our first team and had to leave to develop into the premier league player he is now

Good deal, at circa 10k a week it’s a no brainer, weren’t the rumours that Ferguson had been offered double that?

I've got to say, I hate this attitude. It feels very entitled. West Brom are his employer. We didn't give him his ability or talent. As a club we gave him a contract we deemed suitable for both parties. The only thing he "owes" us, is to meet the terms of that contract. As a club, we have left plenty of kids by the wayside when they didn't meet muster. This is simply the other side of that coin. Our clear failing is that we did not identify his potential before this season.

If we want him to stay, we show the carrot, not the stick. Freezing him out because he owes us will just push him closer to the door.
I think our coaches would argue that the time and money the club invest in the academy would have gone a long way in getting him to the levels he’s currently at

If it’s true that he is happy to run his contract down and walk away to a European club in the summer the club shouldn’t be investing any more time and development into him, it’s all hearsay as it stands but any player with no intention of sticking around should be away from the squad, we are in a fortunate position that we have adequate cover in Furlong and arguably O’Shea.

The club need to shoulder some blame that it’s reached this point allowing his contract to get to this point, however the previous management regimes clearly didn’t see the potential Bilic has.

Whilst Johnstone could have done better, serious questions about the defending should be asked in the first place, he should never have been allowed to win the header

There’s some genuinely awful comments on this thread, people wishing serious injuries on a 16year kid need to give your head a wobble. He’s just like any other player, he is going to go to where ever the money is and wherever he feels may be best for his career, how many players would turn down Barca? His family will have been set up for life by all accounts, who is turning down that opportunity?
Him moving to another club is no different to us poaching kids from other academies.

There were some great performances today, Zohore looked really good, Harper played well, dare I say Brunt played well. Austin and Zohore looked good together and happier playing together than as a lone striker. We looked a threat going forward for the first time in weeks.

"Training ground incident yesterday" according to billic

Could mean numerous things before people jump to conclusions
it could be anything yes, but Bilic did say it was related to the failed transfer bid.

I think the offer is totally fair and if he doesn’t want to sign I wouldn’t be expecting the club to do much more and would to sell in Jan. 20k a week for someone with 16 starts under his belt is a great offer. Take Into consideration it will probably double with promotion too.

Pulis is such a good judge of strikers, isn't he. Wasn't he the person we have to thank for having Burke and HRK on our books?
I don’t think pulis’ commented on his ability he commented on his fitness, which was evident in his performance against port vale I think it was when he barely lasted an hour and was awful throughout the time he was on the pitch. It’s great for him that he’s developed so much but he was poor when he was with us and wasn’t good enough at the time, genuinely have no idea why so many pundits and fans find it so hard to believe a player wasn’t good enough to play regular premier league football at 19 but has developed into a good player 4 years later

Too good for this league. Give him the ball and let him do what he has to do. Needs to be taking every set piece, sorry Phillips.
100% has to be on every set piece. His corners are better than Phillips and I’m far more confident of goals with him standing over a free kick too

Wonder why he brought Al Habsi in?
Watch the goal in slo mo, at no point was his body extended, all the way through the shot he was making himself smaller, horrendous goalkeeping.
Some are pointing out that he made some saves....great, that’s his job
How many clean sheets have we got this season...and if he’s that good why does everyone feel the need to state that he had a good game at derby ....is it just the TV audience because against Blackburn (and others) he’s been very poor

But hey if defending him is people’s choice then that’s up to them, I’d rather we had a proper goalkeeper
pretty sure al habsi is to cover the place vacated by myhill, I’d be amazed to see al habsi make an appearance.

Or we win 1-0
obviously because he didn’t make those great saves keeping us in it at times

No keeper should be beaten from where he was today.
it’s a total freak goal, even knockaert admitted it was a cross, I’m not sure if it took a slight deflection either

Credit where it’s due Johnstone had a good game today, one dodgy clearance which probably shouldn’t have got back to him in the first place but made some great saves, really hope he can build from that.

So just proves brunt and many others played when then wanted to play and didn't when they didn't fancy it... As we all knew they had to much say in the dressing room... Well all have gone apart from the wand and thank god its coming to an end and defiently don't miss him now... Good riddance "legend"
I don’t think it says that at all, it’s basically saying they played how they were told to but the instructions were that poor no one knew what they were doing so they spoke up when asked by the chairman.
