Surprised that Everton were allowed to wear a kit too close to ours in our home match this season

Puma have bought a lot of decent business recently, they aren’t a Lotto, Macron or Kappa type brand anymore.

Puma have just released a whole load of international kits that look very similar. One of the big criticisms of Adidas was that we got a bog standard template that looked the same as a whole host of other clubs. If Puma are doing this for international teams at the World Cup, that doesn't give me hope for us getting anything too bespoke, especially with us dropping down to the Championship.

Regardless, I'd like to hope that anything would be better than the current crop of kits, which I haven't been a fan of. Haven't bought a kit since Umbro were our kit maker.

Don’t puma make those skin-tight shirts? May be a sight to behold with those of us with a larger physique

Don't agree, I think Puma are a big brand. As well as Arsenal, I think they're the main supplier in the prem. Leicester, Newcastle, Burnley & Huddersfield also kitted out by them.

Italy, Uruguay, Bordeaux, Dortmund all have kits made by Puma, not to mention the premier league teams already mentioned. Puma are huge, something like the 3rd largest sportswear manufacturer in the world. The odd thing is it was founded by the brother of the Adidas founder.

Express and Star have an article on it.

"The shirt itself will be revealed either later this week or early next week and the Express & Star understands that the record deal for the club is worth in excess of £5million over the next two years."

Agreed. Hopefully a new manufacturer will see sense. Please can we have a striped shirt this time. Rid us of this solid panel on the back nonsense!

the "nonsense" as you call it was a requirement from the premier league, it is to comply with a UEFA ruling on legibility of numbers. The just kept putting the date when it applied back, sadly we'd already designed our shirts with the ruling in mind. Whichever manufacturer we'd had would have had the plain back panel.

and the kit is also planned and designed in October / November the previous season so chances are we'll have the solid back panel next year in the championship

I think the days of all striped backs are relatively over now. When it used to be just a number it was fine, but with names on the backs now as well, people want a solid panel on the back. This will be particularly heightened when we end up with a myriad of sponsors on the back of shirts as the game continues to sell its soul for money.

Didn't Newcastle have an all striped back this season though, Hull? Just a thought.

they did, but that is because they were in the championship when kit was designed and they don't need to adhere to Premier League rules.

will be interesting to see if Newcastle revert to a solid back this coming season

K8 already sponsor our shirts , that article is from May 2016!!
That pot of cash was spent well before AP had the Sturridge epiphany ! Likely went on 25,000 pints and some pies.

Puma is a great brand, don't know why everyone gets a hard on over Adidas and Nike, their shirts are dull and unoriginal.  The Adidas shirts we've had have been mostly rubbish.

First decent trainers were Puma Street.....

I loved them.

I'm happy to lose anything associated with this godforsaken season and go for something new.

White where it's red, and a navy blue? It'd look good.

Not sure we'd get the divisive yellow and green version though.
