‘Released’ by Werder back to us ...

I'm sad to say that I'm glad we are now rid of him.
Rated him exteremely highly but things seemed to start going awry when Fletcher moved to Stoke.

Thanks for sharing the memories guys, this was an absolutely fabulous day, I also watched it on B&W tv! It was probably the season that really cemented my love of WBA.
I remember my excitement when we beat Blues at Villa Park in the semis & then waiting at the local newsagents for the Sports Argus to arrive so I could read the match report. My next door neighbour was an avid Blues fan & he'd been taking me to St Andrews hoping to turn me into being a City fan but it was the stripes that I really loved (& still do, silly old sod!).
Loved Alan Ashmans guide to the team, great memories. Hopefully a few more to come eh!!

Boing boing big fella so pleased for you.
Its clear you won't have any easy ride but you've never shirked challenges in the past so I am confident that you will give it everything. I would so love to be chanting your name as we get promotion next year (don't care how!) but you have a lot of work to do before then as have the team that you will be assembling around you as the club is rebuilt from the shambles we became recently.
110% support you Darren, your love of this club is clear, lets hope you continue to demonstrate a successful career managing West Brom - Good luck!!

Any player wearing an Albion shirt who is on standby, is selected for, plays for his country, makes me feel proud, regardless
I'm with you 100%.
A bit unlucky to miss out, but in fairness, each of the midfielders GS has picked probably offers a bit more than Jake.

With Big Sam going does this mean Craig Shakespeare come available.

I still want Dean Smith and keep Darren Moore as a first team coach.
From The Guardian: "Allardyce’s backroom team of Sammy Lee, Craig Shakespeare and goalkeeping coach Martyn Margetson are also expected to leave Goodison Park as the club undertakes another expensive overhaul of its management structure."

With such a huge change in management infrastructure as well as the major changes to playing staff it's clear this is going to be a really challenging season. I dream of us becoming an attacking, inventive team that tears up this league but suspect it may take a little time to change what we have become in recent years. Hopefully peoples expectations can be tempered with a little patience :-X & we can have a good great season. Come December '18 we should have a better idea about what our club has become!  8)

Smack on especially the part in bold. It's starting to get to the point where you seriously have to question how thick (for want of a better phrase) Pardew is.

He knew Evans had been unwell did it really not occur to him that he may not last the ninety minutes? Come on!
With some of the consistently poor substitute decisions he's been making recently you might even wonder whether he is trying to get the tin tack ... :-\

"The case will now be heard by a disciplinary panel at a date to be decided .... West Brom manager Alan Pardew said he does not expect the matter to be resolved soon."
