I'd be pretty curious that Sunderland already passed over him for whatever reason, as a 4 month deal it would be OK so long as its a low wage deal but its very difficult to imagine a 33 year old who's not been with a club since last May is going to get back to the kind of fitness he'll be able to contribute much to the season.

Still clearly Corberan knows him and wants him, though I suspect it'll be a similar thing to Pipa where he's just having to use his contacts book to get whoever is available in

What’s the likelihood of such an article being accurate?  Probably one of the regular contributors to the awful West Brom News.  I wonder if their specialist “doctor” had given his judgement yet on Dike’s injury before he’s had a scan?

If there’s any spare money knocking about at all I can’t understand why we’d be spending it in an area that were quite well fixed. Surely after the weekend a backup striker should be a priority if there is one wage available.

I don't know how true the rumour of YM being at the ground  a few weeks ago, but hopefully if this rumour has any substance he will now be working on his fitness and will soon be ready to  play as player x trialist in u23 games.

We cannot afford to pay this guy until he gets fit for a handful of games and the end of the season.

Regarding DG, if the wages were peanuts and he was fit I wouldn't adverse to offer him a 4 month deal, as Stoke is club where strikers go  to die.

Given our luck with injured strikers we are only one injury away from being left with one proven striker.

No way re DG.  Whatever we would pay him would be a waste of money.  That ship has sailed.  If he wasn’t an ex-legend here then the howls of derision if we were to sign him would be deafening.

Young Marshall is here on loan.  We need to use him when the opportunity arises.
