Wall to wall coverage on 3 channels of the same network and the cancellation of a 4th was way too much . Surely continual coverage on the News Channel with the odd programme on the others would have been sufficient?

Exactly, way over the top

In the grand scheme of human and planetary evolution we occupy this spinning hunk of rock for less than the blink of an eye. If only there were other ways to occupy our time and appreciate it to it's fullest without the need to watch TV. Such a pity there's nothing else to do......
It doesn't matter how many resources you have.
If you don't know how to use them, they will never be enough.

No point in changing the channel when it's the same on every channel - We pay our license to have a choice of viewing, not to see the same stuff on every channel

I don't have a problem in showing it for those who want to see it, my point is why did BBC and ITV have to clear the schedule on all their main channels,
Why not just show it on one channel for those who want to watch it, after all, they were just showing the same on all the channels

Those finding fault with the viewing schedule really are complaining for the sake of it, the year is 2021 not 1971 when we only had 3 channels there are over 100 channels on freeview not counting the likes of Sky, Netflix, Amazon etc so if your problem is you don't like the Royal  Family then watch another channel!
