Really let us down today with needles red and I hope we fine him the maximum amount allowed.

I hope Holgate is fit for Wednesday.

Looking light at CB now.

Great instinctive finish.

Keep it up AA.

Played very well when called upon, which wasn't that often thankfully.

I think the opposite. Many keepers are signed knowing full well they'll be a backup number 2 and nothing more. Myhill was the same, as was Alan Miller when he was sold. Griffiths is here to start and it has been widely reported. There's a lot of confidence in him. Wildsmith will know the score and at his age I doubt his confidence will be affected by this. It wouldn't surprise me if he was told this was a possibility when he signed in the summer.

Not Wildsmith though as he's starting.

Brilliant, at last Mogga was worked out Wallace and Swift.

It’s being widely reported as a £4million transfer.

Where has it been widely reported as £4m, as I have been looking since Monday and this thread is the only place I have seen it mentioned.

I would be very surprised if Wildsmith doesn't start, as not doing so would probably have him think about his future with us, if not damaging his confidence.

Heaven forbid anything should happen to JG if he goes onto displace Wildsmith, but if something does happen we need a motivated and confident Wildsmith
 as cover.

Listening to Steve Hermon earlier today he is 100% sure it’s £2m upfront, £2m guaranteed add ons and £1m non-guaranteed add on (avoid relegation so perhaps we write that off!)

I so hope this is true, as even though, £4m is nowhere near enough for AP, it's a lot better than £2m.

I have no faith in Myhill to improve any facets of his game in all honesty. Lovely bloke I'm sure, but a shocking example to set to any up and coming young goalkeeper, happy to settle for a slot on the bench for years and then retires and lets himself go completely to the point where he looks horrendous now and can barely get about. Appointing him as first team goalkeeper coach does not seem a good move to me.

I never really rated him as gk and don't like those happy to just sit on the bench but I thought it was the easy and cheapest option too when he was promoted and hoped he wouldn't have an adverse effect on our goalies.
On the other hand we could be totally wrong as the
youth keepers seem to be doing well, so only time will tell, and just because he has taken full advantage of local Greggs and McDonald's it is a bit harsh to say that will hinder his coaching abilities as it didn't seem to hamper Neville Southall who was quite big when he played as well as coached.

I wish I could get excited by this signing like others, but I think we have weakened our defence so much that it won't matter what we have upfront.

We haven't had a clean sheet for 8 games I think and that was with AP, whose fee has still left me numb.

Having said all that, best of luck AA (that's where the Albion are sending me slowly but surely) and I pray your send us back to where we belong.

Please someone confirm the fee isn't a derisory £2m.

Good luck Alex, another player given away if £5m is right!
I'm worried because I don't think Josh Griffiths is half as good!

And if it was £2m?

Percy!!!!!!!

#wba are hopeful of completing a late - very late - loan deal for #SaintsFC striker Adam Armstrong. Would be the final piece of business for new manager Tony Mowbray if completed

Tick, tock, tick, tock....

Just checked on the Bristol Rovers site, they are gutted, player of the season for them, one said they would be relegated already but for Josh.

Made you look.

That £2m to £4m is nothing short of tragic.

Our average team age is hurtling downwards,I wonder what it will be at 23:05

It won't just be the age.

What an absurd comment.  He’s clearly been scouted for his potential.

Correct, but must try harder to be more respectful.

Miguel Delaney

West Brom reject £15m bid from Everton for Fellows.

Likely to be competition from Brentford and Southampton in summer

Is he reliable Gaz?

On special BOGOF offer - Swift is 10/-  (ten Bob) the free one is Wallace.

Not even with a barge pole.

Everton have said themselves the only bit of business they will do is Alcaraz. Obviously in football things change but that’s the state of play at the moment

We need to put Tom Fellows behind that type of lock and key to keep him.

Not sure whether its been debunked or not but £2m upfront is extremely low.

Correct.

A urine take.

Whatever the derisory fee, I just want to wish AP all the very best for the future.

Criminally neglected for years in favour of clowns like Button.

If we had played him when he was younger we would have for more for him now.

Although this isn’t the Grant thread I do wonder if people are making some swift judgements on the Mowbray/Grant dynamic. 3 games, he started 1 and there’s not been too much time yet for Mowbray.

What judgement has been made about Swift? Is he definitely leaving?

He’s on 33k a week apparently so 30% of his wages over 4 months would only be around 400k, I would think they might want a 7 figure loan fee.

No chance, but if true they can shove that 7 figure loan fee for likely 16 games where the sun doesn't shine.

I would take a direct swap plus £5m to us for Tom Fellows, and he stays with us until the summer.

Never going to happen though as they know they have a goal machine who they'll need to try and get promotion next season.
