Due to Bartley being daft none of that can happen until he returns though

If only we hadn’t loaned Taylor back out, mental decision.

Needs to sort the defence out, extremely poor displays so far.

Furlong Ajayi Bartley Heggem
               Diakite

Should be a solid enough base to build from. Heggem not great in the middle for me and styles is not a left back.

Bloody strong squad now, should be serious contenders for the play offs.

That’s disgraceful from the EFL if this gets approved 14 hours after the deadline closes! Surely they could put a night shift on twice a year

Can’t see how this can go through, would have been a formality if everything was done on time. Shame as would have been a potential game changer for us.

Club must be confident to spend that kind of money on him. Never heard of him but stats look impressive. Hopefully the no.10 we’ve needed since pereira left.

Great goalkeeper. Good move all round, we get £5m pure profit, Ipswich get a good GK and AP gets his prem move. Good luck to him, seems a nice guy

Having Swift next to Mowatt changes the dynamic of the midfield. Makes us a lot more of a threat. Doubt we’d play that way against a bigger side but could help against the weaker sides that are tough to break down.

Glad we kept attacking at 1-0 and 2-0, hasn’t happened for a while…

Delighted, great appointment. Probably a blessing that the deal with wickey broke down as Tony is the perfect appointment. Promotes younger players through, attractive style.

Let’s see what Mowbray can do with a bit of backing in this league.

Will be interesting to see if our attacking players flourish under Mowbray. Not the same manager as he was 16 years ago but I can see Johnston, fellows, Diangana and even swift causing opposition massive problems. Exciting times

Why are we seemingly back at square one? Surely just go to option 2. Weird recruitment process

Surely the attention turns now to the other two that were interviewed?

Hake or Mowbray then, Mowbray would be decent if fit enough.

I’d rather they took their time to get the right appointment. Dyche is the stand out candidate if we can persuade him to take the job.

It’s been 3 weeks, we’re in the middle of a transfer window and it’s the poorest Championship in years. Shambles.

This has taken way too long and is a bit of a shambles now imo

I think the 3rd candidate is Schumacher

I will be disappointed if it’s Hake. From the outside I cannot see he has anything on his cv that puts him ahead of the other runners. As I’ve already said the fact that he was assistant to somebody that was often criticised for having no visible plan or structure to his teams despite spending millions is very off putting !

McKenna and Carrick were assistants to Ole who had no tactics despite spending millions…

I agree with this entirely with comparisons. You also need to factor in squads at different levels of decay or development. Time given to make changes (most owners, and to be fair fans, are not that patient), and different expectations for teams.  A win percentage deemed a failure at one club, other clubs can only dream about.

Exactly, Wicky managed a couple of top teams in the Swiss league, hake managed a couple of middle to poor teams in the Dutch league. Win percentage can’t be compared.

You can’t compare win percentages of the managers when they’ve managed in different leagues! Hake has a good reputation and I don’t think there’s much in it between him and Wicky. I don’t think Fischer is the 3rd option as his football is completely different.

Fischer is the stand out, can’t see him being interested though. Wicky and Hake both have good CV’s so would be happy with either.

Not really understanding why people want Brunt and Abella as interim to the end of the season. This year is our best chance of going up, the league is poor imo

Will be interesting on Saturday for Luke Williams  :D

I would have liked somebody in place by now just because we’re in a transfer window, however it is probably more important to get the right man in.

What have you seen in Williams to suggest he should get the gig?

I haven’t, I’m just saying our squad is stronger than Swansea. I’d go for cooper, but if he’s not available then it’s all much of a muchness. Eustace, Schumacher, Williams etc. Would have expected we would go abroad but Pearce is heavily involved and has a relationship with Williams already.

Not sure Williams is the right fit for us, doesn't seem to be that progressive.

His record at Swansea is pretty uninspiring too W9 D6 L10 and a GD of 0. (29 scored and conceded).

Obviously, I'll get behind him, should he become head coach, but it just seems so uninspiring.

I’d argue our squad is a lot stronger than Swansea so difficult to judge.
