Think these are in trouble.

Villa going to chuck another 100m at it just to survive and i think they will with the new gaffer.

It doesn't feel like Wolves owners are willing to spunk another 100m on them however. They might go all out in the Jan window but i doubt it.

Feels like Fosun think they have spunked enough already which is fair.

They are playing a bit of a strange game. It seems they are waiting for Lopategui, but it could well be that by the time he wants to return to management, they could be adrift at which point you do not envisage him wanting to risk it.

I don't hate them anywhere near as much as Villa but their fans have gotten very arrogant since all that money was pumped into them.

Would be nice to watch the meltdown  ;D

That's very funny. It would be funnier in exact timeline but funny nonetheless. Especially the bits about not signing players who go elsewhere, signing players who are injured, playing them before they're up to fitness and getting even more injured and playing a goalkeeper with a broken wrist when they could have got some cover.

Then there's what sounds like a McDoughnut situation with Sellars. What isn't funny is that all this has happened under a 'Football Committee', something which Mr. Gourlay wants to implement here so I'll keep my sniggers to myself for now.

Diego Costa is sent off for HEADBUTTING Ben Mee in the dying seconds of Wolves' draw with Brentford

Great signing for them 😂

Someone said on Twitter he will be their version of Nicolas Anelka for us.  Big money and little to offer

#Wolves are moving closer to appointing Julen Lopetegui, their No. 1 target, as head coach. Negotiations are now back on and progressing well. Crucially, Lopetegui instigated the talks earlier this week #wwfc 🚨

Lopetegui confirmed.

Interesting that is, wolves and villa have all gone Spanish with appointments - and I would suggest three good appointments

Wolves lose 3-2 after being 2-1 up. Now only above bottom due to goal difference.

I think for their PL future it all comes down to how much cash the owners are willing to spunk in Jan window.

EDIT -  Just looked and they have a net spend of 324m since 2016/17  :o

the reason they didn't spend much in the summer was due to FFP rules. Selling Gibbs-White for a ridiculous fee allowed them to then bring in what they did.

it's why the price tags on Neves, Neto and Traore are so high.

they also have the issue of the MIA Raul Jimenez.

They absolutely did Forest over with MGW. A decent player but nowhere near worth that they paid. Dirty dingles proper mugged them off.

Just seeing the England squad including the name Coady (Everton) brought home just how bizarre the decision to loan him out was. Its not as if Wolves are loaded with top class defenders. Otherwise they wouldn't be bottom of the league.

Neither are England. Sign of the times. Not exactly blessed with top class keepers either if fairly recent history's anything to go by  ;D .

They had a really bizarre summer in terms of defenders. Whilst Coady was definitely their best defender and genuinely a quality CB, they also got rid of Saiss, Dendonker and Boly. Saiss and Dendonker offered a lot to the team and even Boly did well over the years. Even worse, Dendonker and Boly were sold to Premier League rivals.

I don't think there's ever been a summer where a team has released 4 regular players from their defence in one go - it is utter madness. Even crazier, these defenders also contributed a few goals as well, so even from an offensive perspective it wasn't good either. To me it looks like the owners have given up.
