Next 3 games-crucial?
« on: December 02, 2011, 01:45:00 AM »
i think all are winnable games. this weekend being the hardest of the 3.
5 points minimum for me out next 3! i think we can get 7 personally.

think its important we do well as the run we have after newcastle (a) man city (h) everton (h) spurs (a) is horrible and could see us go a few games without getting anything. if we do balls these next few games up i can see us being in the bottom 3 by new year.

so my questions of such?
how many points do we need?
and are any of the next 3 'must wins'?

I think 7 points and wigan and blackburn come into that catogry

O Albion we love you

actually think 5 points wouldn't be too bad a result

QPR away isn't easy (even thought I have tipped a win) and a point wouldn't hurt too much

Wigan at Home is a game we should and I'd be very disappointed/annoyed if we don't..

Blackburn Away is harder to call as I have a feeling Kean will be sacked before this game and who knows what sort of turn around a new manager will make, so it best to hope for a point there.

I expect us to beat Wigan, I would also love us to win at either QPR or Blackburn too, but I would be happy with five points.

Right now I'd accept 5 points. But win tomorrow and I'd say we should get seven from these three.

I'll never forget this time last year when we had a number of what looked like 'Easy games' or games we 'will take points from' and we didn't. The difference is though last year we took on the big boys and come out with positive results, this time we're taking points from the teams around us, which is more important in my opinion.

I've thought all along we'd be in a relegation battle for the whole season, thats not me being negative, i'm just trying to stay a bit realistic. I know we can finish 12th upwards but i'd settle for 17th, but i do fear we'll be in the relegation zone again at some point. If we'd have taking a point from Stoke at home and 3 points from Fulham at home it'd be a different picture but now we'll have to go to those 2 places again and hope for a point a piece which will be tough.

Come on Baggies! Give QPR hell!

They are going to be very tough games with each club believing there is a chance to put some good points on the board. Its a shame two of the games are away from home as that could make a real difference, could definitely be a crucial period though.

In my opinion if we got 9 points out of them, which is very dooable but also majorly tough we would be safe. Whatever happens though I still dont think we will go down.

6 points would be brilliant as that would get us to 20 points before christmas.

No none of them are 'MUST' win, you cannot have a must win game in December. 'Must Win' is a phrase used far too easily. A must win is when time and games are running out and you HAVE to pick up points to even have a chance of staying up. Usually around April time 'MUST' win games start.

However there are definately points to be won in the next 3 games! I would settle for nothing less than a win at home to Wigan. The 2 away games won't be easy and a point is never a bad result away from home in the prem. I'd be delighted with a win at either QPR or Blackburn. Think 4 points would be a good result from these 3

They're games we should be looking to go and get three points from, regardless of who we have the following week, or a month later. If we go to QPR tomorrow and play as well as we can I'll be confident we can get the victory. Although, I wouldn't grumble at a point. If we're going to target winning an away game, then I'd like it too be Blackburn. They're struggling, and a victory for us would only further enhance a comfortable position over them.

You have to win your home games anyway in this league and I'd expect us to beat Wigan. I'd be happy with 7 but I do think 9 is acheiveable.

I think 5 is a fair expectation. On our day we can have all 9. I can see a draw today and a victory against Wigan, but Blackburn will be tough, and we always seem to struggle against them

Decent result today. I'd say we should be aiming for 4 points minimum from the next 2 games.

Wigan have a very tough run after us, so if we can beat them they could really be in the proverbial by Xmas.  I'd like to see a couple of sides (or even 3!) lose touch at the bottom in Jan, nothing personal, don't care who, just self-interest.

Wouldnt it be funny if O'Neill "bombed" at Sunderland and they still went down along with Wigan and Blackburn for me.

The Wigan is by far our biggest game of the season so far.Nothing other than 3 points are good enough.I will then be happy with a point at Blackburn and a point at the Toon

All games are tough but winning the next 2 would go a long way to us surviving this campaign

Shame our records against both are a bit rubbish to be honest.

Newcastle away a point would be a bonus how well they have started. They have Norwich & Swansea next so maybe if they do well there we may catch them on a off day.

6 points would be perfect and both games should be great opportunities to put points on the board but last season we managed to get 1 point from the 4 games against these 2 last season so it isnt a nailed on double header.

Anything less than 4 points though would put us in a difficult position though with us having only 1 won of our last 5 games.

5 points from the 3 games minimum, but if we don't beat Wigan we need at least a draw, but then that means we need to win at Blackburn, and i have my doubts on that.

Agree, last season consecutive home games against Wigan, dingles, West Ham, 3 points! Big points from top four teams. This season no points from MU, Chelsea, Spurs, Arsenal or burglars. We must get points against lower teams. Good point in the end at QPR, now need 3 v Wigan.
