Mowbray said to the E and S that Price complained of feeling something immediately after his first NI game, NI then selected him for the 2nd game too despite knowing he had a knock.

Mowbray said he had to leave Price out of our game because of this to rest him. Understandably not happy with NI.

I think that is why Mowbray is saying he wouldn't bring him on unless no other choice.

I've never understood this line of thinking. Surely a player is either being rested or they're not? Does him going through a warm up and post match sprints rest him?

in a sporting sense yes as he’s in training anyway.

Less riskier I suppose but in these instances I would leave the player out the squad entirely

I think it was around £2.5M. If I remember rightly the Corberan compensation money  helped pay for him.
A prospective bargain at £2.5m and if he continues to improve the way he is and top Premier League clubs start sniffing, that £2.5m will turn to circa £25m or more so a good bit of business all round.

I've lost count of the players that the fans over value after a few games. Even when one shines for a season, something goes awry. It seems to be the Albion way.
Humanity is a parade of fools, and I’m at the front of it...twirling the baton.

If you're fit enough for the bench then you're fit enough to play in my view.

I don't subscribe to this leaving him on the bench malarkey.

Agreed - managers really make a rod for their own back when they do this.

In what scenario would we have seen Price?

if we needed to replace Mowatt or Swift through injury and didn’t need Diakite’s defensive work. There isn’t really another passing CM and Bany can play the CAM role so replaced Molumby instead.

If we'd have conceded earlier than we did.
It doesn't matter how many resources you have.
If you don't know how to use them, they will never be enough.
Oh, and always remember to defecate on those Vile chaps in claret and spew.

The Price was right and he should definitely have come on down from the subs bench.

Mogga is going to get the boot before Swift does at this rate.

As soon as we get anyone who looks decent they get crocked for months. Then you get certain teams down the road who get every bit of luck going.

I didn't know it was a training session injury, and thought it was a international duty one.

Shame for the lad and out prospects and no compo for his wages given our skint status.

What a great weekend.

We seem to have rotten luck with injuries

Weird that
How much did we pay ?
Then Brighton make a very serious inquiry multiplying our profit in a very short space of time…he’s ok to play for Ireland (because they don’t lose on an investment) but can’t play for us …
If youre going to get told off, get told off for doing something not for doing nothing..

First I'm hearing of this Brighton link and an apparent 6mil release clause but makes sense, he does look a step above but surely he'd want to play until the end of the season.

Add striker to the list of positions he's played in the last 3 months. CM, AM, RM, RB, ST.

Done well considering.
