Would indicate not as much quality as we thought on the bench

What he sees in Wallace I will never know

Palmer did alright no complaints
Furlong steady plenty of energy combined well with TF.
Holgate nice goal but a little shaky.
Heggem standard performance goal saving tackle.
Styles improves weekly great going forward.
Mowatt the metronome. Steady not spectacular.
Molumby my M.O.M has an energy that we lack elsewhere.
Grant endeavor and goal wrongfully disallowed good contribution one of our better players today again.
Johnson still not at it but he is getting more involved and offers more than swift, Diangana and Wallace. Needs a goal.
Fellows best game for months had fullback on toast.
Maja good hold up and link play good finish. Good game.

Racic underwhelming again for his size he isn't half a bottler he got injured not fully committing to that header. Prefer us start getting time into diakite as he is ours long term.
Wallace has dropped off a cliff he seems so cumbersome and can't trap a bag of cement these days.
Swift came on too late for me to really judge. Cole similarly so but he had one nice turn on edge of box. Usually when he comes on we aren't really attacking so will always get an unfair deal. Finally the reincarnation of Sherjil Macdonald-Dobbin he is awful we should send him back to Villa Jan 1 he offers nothing. Went from Fellows murdering the full back to the fullback lounging on a deck chair with a cocktail.

Today the coach threw away the opportunity to win with a horrific triple change that wasn't needed. We were in control of game (first half had been quite even in my eyes) and I think we would have gone on to win if we carried on or made minimal changes. Corberan more interested in not losing than winning. Point closer to staying out of league one. On to a very hard away game minus Furlong who is suspended
O Albion we love you

Changing 3 players all at once killed our forward momentum which was disappointing after a 2 week break. Entertainment wise it was a good game that could have gone either way. Who plays RB if Furlong is suspended?

Enjoyable game which we win if not for Grant's goal being wrongly ruled out. We have to stop selecting Wallace. He's never been great but is nowhere near the level needed now. Was disappointed to see Fellows go off, Maja too but both looked shattered. Defence was poor today. Bartley will return when available.

Considering the conditions that was a decent performance in my book. Couldn’t tell from wher I’m sat but looked like the disallowed goal was for handball ? Just needed a bit of composure in those 15/20 mins after half time when we were well on top.
Their No7 was the best attacking layer I’ve seen in this division this season , if he played for us we’d be top two without doubt.
Grant MoM for me . Styles caught out for first goal . Molumby or Mowatt should have taken responsibility for their No7 . People can moan about the subs all they want but Maja and Fellows looked out on their feet and I didn’t think Maja had that good a game

Thought we were marginally the better side over all.
Poor defending for both goals.
I've read a few comments about  Styles being caught out but he was often having to deal with 2 players as Johnston was missing.
Would like to see a replay of the disallowed Grant goal...couldn't see a handball so would like to know when it
happened.
The subs knocked the flow out and we never looked like getting a third after 70 minutes. By all means replace Maja and Fellows as they looked shot but keep Johnston and Grant on to at least give us the chance of creating something.
Wallace needs to be dropped from the bench, he has lost anything he once had.

You're right, that's why they were both (correctly, even though disappointingly from us fans' point of view) substituted.
Very enjoyable game from 2 teams going for the win. Just not true that we are happy with a draw today, but credit to Norwich who deserved a share of the points. There was a lot to like about our performance today though.

Just got back that was one of the most entertaining games I’ve seen up the Albion in years especially the 1st half. Credit to both teams they really went for it & you could tell the’d punched each other out & were dead on their feet in the last 10 minutes.

Thought Karlan Grant was absolutely phenomenal, Maja, Heggem, Styles & Fellows all impressed me also.

You can see Wallace’s confidence is shot to pieces, he was absolutely dreadful when he came on. Worryingly the subs made us far weaker when they came on.

I thought we did OK although it proved how weak our bench is.  I really thought they'd get the winner after Racic was hit by a shoulder - he seems in a daze ordinarily.   Bringing Cole, Wallace and Swift on did less than improve matters but who else is there?

I have seen a dodgy clip of it. The ball does seem to hit Grant's arm off Johnston's shot. Its completely unintentional, it isn't clear whether it took a deflection en route either. I'm almost sure the law states, or stated, that if the ball hits a hand / arm and it leads to a goal it's a foul (though that may be / have been) in the Premier League. If that's the case it is a free kick but it's extremely harsh.

Best game of football I've seen at the Hawthorns for ages. The 442 with two strikers playing as such, with two wingers, lends itself to that and we looked much better going forward. The flip side is we don't look so solid out of possession.

Heggem, own goal aside, was absolutely outstanding, there is a Premier League centre back in him.

Carlos's substitutions killed our chance of winning the game.

They showed a replay on live club stream. Ball does hit his hand but he can't help it.

I believe (someone tell me if im wrong) the rules say if the ball touches hand for any reason and leads to a goal it gets chalked off which is what happened.

So if Maja, Mowatt and Fellows were tiring, whom should he have brought on instead?

You're assuming they were tiring. There's been no comment from anyone inside the club to back up your claim. They haven't played for two weeks there's no reason they couldn't last 90 minutes.

Corberan came on Radio WM after the game and claimed he was delighted with our attacking threat except the last twenty minutes. Well, go figure, don't take all your attacking threat off then.

There's an argument that any outfield player will be tired after 70 minutes, it's just disappointing after a 2 week break they couldn't play the full 90, we got fresh legs but lost all our threat and that's more down to the three that came on offering nothing. The subs were probably made with a thought on Tuesdays game but there was a game to be won yesturday and we had more chance to win that if the three forwards he took off had stayed on the pitch.

I did say in the 'in game' thread just before 60 mins that Fellows looked knackered however a few minutes later he was running around ok again.

I don't buy the "the players are exhausted after having 2 weeks off", Against Hull it was "the players are exhausted so they need these 2 weeks"

Corberan just made poor subs. Nothing more, nothing less. When he brings Wallace on we are basically a man down.

I saw that at the game too. Maja however looked absolutely knackered as he walked around the pitch. Part of our problem is the poor quality that comes on as these guys exit. Wallace, as said many times by many people, should no longer be near the match-day squad.

Nope ! CCs problem was that most of those he took off did need taking out plus Racic who I assume was a concussion job, but those he bought on or had the option to bring on aren’t anywhere near as good as those that needed replacing .
He was also unfortunate in that Racic was injured so soon after coming on something which seems to have been pretty much ignored on here and elsewhere !

Racic was on to do the Mowatt job which he didn’t have time to do ,  a substitution that didn’t work for circumstances beyond anybody’s control
I was also using as a further example,of how not all substitutions that don’t work are down to the manager
