Nervy end, thought Diakete did great when he came on. Some of the others not so much.

Still a win is a win, Plymouth weren't as bad as I thought they would be.

That was a bit squeaky bum time really.  Thought Plymouth played better than their league position puts them in (especially Whittaker).

Felt we didn't have the control we needed to for the last 10 minutes and gave up too much possession.  Saying that, we defended well and Grady's defensive work was excellent.

Feel like our subs have good quality but we can lose a bit too much in the middle of the pitch when we make them.  Something to look at.

Only 1 point behind Wolves now.

It was pleasing to see that when Molumby is out we have Racic and Diakate who are more than capable of replacing him.

Racic looks at a different level and apparently he is not 100% match fit yet, his pass for the goal was different class.

Grinded out that win but we’ll take it. Diakite was fantastic when he came on. I kinda only half watched but Plymouth were good. Onto the next.

Sign of a decent team when you don’t play well second half and still get the 3 points.
I’ll take that.

Over the 95 minutes we deserved it. Plymouth made it difficult for us and had some decent attacks but never really looked like scoring.
We were a post width from being out of sight at half time.
Racic looks rusty but played well although I thought we lacked the zip that Molumby gives us in midfield. Swift and Mowatt were both neat and tidy and kept us ticking over well.
Pleased for Maja that he got the goal.
Grinding out results is the sign of a strong side.

Not sure why loads of people thought this was an easy game, they play better football than the league position shows and it’s taken a few games for them to get going, going by how many times we hit the post I think we had a bit more today but not the routine win expected. We draw this game last season.

Dominated most of the game

Should have had 3/4 goals for me, Plymouth did well though, better than expected.

Nervy at the end but another win and and another Maja goal

Three points in the bag a striker in Maja who has hit a red hot goal scoring patch and who’s hold up play is outstanding. Only concern is our game management let them come on to us far too often with players passing decisions and keeper ballooning ball forward.

Thought we were an unlucky not to be a couple of goals up at half time, but they were the better team in the second in my opinion and will feel disappointed not to have got something from the game having survived the first half.

Probably not our best performance but we did pepper the woodwork on 3 or 4 occasions. Whilst Plymouth were neat and tidy their only real chance came when Bartley mis controlled and got caught by Whittaker with Palmer bailing him out .
Thought Semi was probably MoM today with honourable mentions to Grant and  Furlong plus a little cameo from Diakite which promised much

Agree with this, he was great. I'd say after him it was Furlong, Mowatt and Maja. I thought Grant did enough to justify starting the next game but he did fade after a while.

Deserved to win and if we had a bit better luck, could have scored 3/4 in the first half. However, they had chances and I was really surprised with the quality of their performance - both wingers, Cissoko and Whittaker (he's a class above), were always a threat.

Great ball from Racic for the goal and great to see 'Johnny-on-the-spot' Maja finally get his goal.

However, I have to have a little moan about other fans by me. The constant moaning about playing out from the back, Swift coming deep for the ball, Palmer not kicking it long etc. is a joke. It's how we play and if people can't accept that after we've had Corberan for nearly two seasons and currently sitting top of the league, then I'm not quite sure what to say.

On Swift: he didn't play well and he isn't getting goals and assists but our success as a team has involved him coming deep, dragging people with him and giving further space to the wide players to stretch the game.

Boing boing!

Very well summed up CL3MO. We won and I’m delighted. The much maligned Rooney has Plymouth playing well and I really liked their number 7. Delighted for Maja. Such an intelligent player who knows where the net is.

Didn't see game so can't comment. Saw the highlights though and Bartley looked like he was day dreaming to give them their best chance but 3 points in the bag, top of the table and we keep going.

We are top, it is all in our own hands. The only way that another team can replace us is if we throw it away.
We have to concentrate all the time we are on the field. We do not need a "Bartley style" switching off as he did again today.

Made harder work of that than we needed too. Subs I felt disjointed us more than helped us. Largely poor from the bench minus Diakite. The Big Serb looks a class above imagine when he's match fit. Maja doing what he does waiting for the ammo and scoring. Mowatt had another good game as did Furlong.

Thought Heggem struggled today and Ajayi spent half the game the wrong side of his man. Now that Don Carlos has had to change the team with the molumby injury maybe he will look at some of his options.

Not having a cf on the bench seems silly- neither Wallace or Dobbin or a cf as hard as they may try. Also using all 5 subs with 20 mins to go and having to hold on to a 1-0 seems risky as if we get somebody Injured we would effectively have to play until the end a man light.

All in all happy Baggie. Top spot a win a clean sheet and yet to concede at home
O Albion we love you

We don't really have a fit centre forward to put on the bench until Dike returns.

Why did we sign Cole.....answers on a postcard!

We are another quality striker away from automatic promotion as there is far too much dependency now on Maja and with Dike still very much an uncertain proposition.

Still early days but league there for the taking.

Cole was always the backup and even he has said as much, the problem is I don’t think we were expecting to have the players we do, no evidence of it but I think there is a play agreement in Dobbin’s loan which means we’re having to jam him into the striker role as he doesn’t get into the team on the wings currently. IF mana got injured the it’s a straight swap with Cole and Dobbin stays as the sub.
