Some real glimmers of promise from this bloke, think he can become a very good player at this level.

Great time for him to start finding his feet too, some competition in centre mid and enables us to rotate the legs as we go through the slog until May. Feels to me like his ability to cover the ground defensively means that he may be freeing up Molumby to roam more, which aids us in attack.

One of those slow burners we hope.

Lots still to do but…Good signs from the new regime to have identified him and Heggem at absolute bargain prices, at last some clever recruitment where values are increasing.

More of the same please.

Played well again today. We lost control of the game when he went off
I like he normally looks for a forward pass
Has soon has mowatt and swift come on we go to walking football backwards and sideways passing
Definitely starts in front of mowatt for me

I thought he was dreadful and made my feelings known but he's been fine the last 3 games. Still not a starter for me but compared to Racic he's atleast involved in the game, good or bad.

He’s above Racic now in the pecking order. He has an ability to keep and get hold of the ball or block when it looks very unlikely. Tchoyi-like in that sense. I’m a fan.

We were much better when he was on the pitch.  He has more pace than Mowatt although that may be because AM has been overused.  I hope that his control sharpens with more game experience.

I agree with others, looked better when he was on the field more legs than mowett I think we should carry on with him and moloumby ,which is nothing against mowett because I’m a big fan of him

He also looked to move forwards a lot more than Mowatt.

I’m also a big fan of Mowatt but it was really noticeable how many times Mowatt passed backwards whilst Diakite looked to spin and get past a couple to create some space and momentum.

To be fair to Mowatt he had less forward options at that stage of the game.

As a positive today, he looks difficult to shake off the ball, and just as important, he sees and delivers a through pass. Just a bit slow. I'd like him even more, if he got rid of those earrings.

Opposing players really got stuck into him, but he held his ground as best he could. Must be a nightmare getting his kit cleaned.

Although there were several performance that stood out yesterday, I thought Diakite (again, against weaker opposition) is starting to show his strengths.

Perhaps this season is all about the slow progress, being in around the first XI, with next season as a potential breakout as many foreign players have done in the past in the Championship/Premier League.

Another good signing for me.

Don't think he's hit anywhere near his top levels yet.

This might sound strange given that we went in 4-0 up ,but for me when Jim and price were on the pitch we looked more secure and controlled the ball much better .
I really like Diakite .

Reminds me of Patrick Vieira. All legs but manages to keep the ball.

Some of the situations he finds himself and manages to get out of amaze me.

Looks like a great slow burner of a signing to me.

Echo some of the comments made. I actually think we look more balanced with him in the side. I definitely think he’s a better option away from instead of Swift. He offers much better protection defensively and demonstrates good use of the ball.

There is definitely a player in there. I think his physical presence in defence of set pieces could be key as we really only had Heggem with aerial ability yesterday. One concern of Diakite would be that he seems to have the turning circle of the Queen Mary , not sure how that can be improved but if we can well have a baby Okay on our hands !

I really like him. Never hides and always makes himself available for the ball even when tight situations.

Also, he showed his character after his he made that error that lead to a goal not long ago, but then played great instead of letting his head drop.

I think we will see him more in the rest of games this season, especially away from home.

Big boots to fill, but hopefully he can be our new Mulumbu.

A monster in that second half - looked all at sea in the first half. Really stood up to be counted and provided good protection to our centre halves.

I hope we see more of him

He looked good when he had a run of games next to Molumby. I'd be playing that partnership going forward.

Solid partnership but very little creativity.
It is not the taking part, but the winning that counts.
