Pick a player of the last 30yrs
« on: November 29, 2022, 10:02:14 AM »
you would have liked to have seen in an Albion shirt.
I would go for Stevie Gerrard he made his debut for Liverpool on this day 1998, what a player looking at the clips on twitter he's even better than I thought he was. He's the closest that I have seen to Bryan Robson who was my favourite player even with the likes of Cyrille and Laurie for competition.

There are simply too many to mention, honestly, I'd be here all day  ;D .

Claude Makélélé. A wonderful defensive midfielder.

I'd have loved to see what it would have been like had Lewandowski or Modric signed after we went in for them.

If we're being really unrealistic, maybe Zinadine Zidane, Ronaldo Nazario or Leo Messi.

Lother Mattaus= could play anywhere, defence, midfield, and upfront. Not just at club level but on the international stage too.

My favourite player of all time, would love to see him at his peak, in the beloved stripes.

Unrealistically - Messi!

Realistically, Vardy would have been loved here. We wouldn’t have kept him like Leicester but he’d have been a hit. Fans would have loved him.  Lee Hughes on steroids

I’d be in for him on loan January …

This is who I thought of in fantasy land.  Vardy was a good choice as well.

Some really good picks.
I'll add Alan Shearer to the list....or Drogba.

Zola would have been good too.

Realistically Alan Shearer. Who knows what we could have achieved with a goal machine like that.

Yes. He played in goal due to a lack of goalkeepers on the day though, so he never trialed for us as a centre forward. Oops.......
