if Beals still in charge then we will loose, shocking management last Saturday. if a new man is in place by tomorrow, there could be a bounce. 2-2

So this is the bloke that robbed us of a 3-2 at Bournemouth? Great, love the officials in this league.

New manager bounce please!  Sheff U are quite erratic, let's get at them.

Have no idea what to expect. Given that CC only took over at 11.30pm yesterday I dont think we will see much different on Saturday. I am however looking forward to going to the game and that feels good.

Hopefully he can get enough into them in the next couple of days to set them up effectively, and not a flat back five as we have been the past couple of home games

That's one way of stiffening things up at the back, controversial  ;D .

He could train them intensively until there's enough left standing to form a team and pick those as the starting eleven?
Mmmn, everything else has been tried with this bunch.

BTW I don't know what Corberan can do about our goalkeeper situation.  Palmer is so slow getting down and his spring is poor.

Well that would certainly rule Phillips out so would be fine by me  ;D

There's a video from the club with the defence being drilled on positional work.

Looked like a 4 with O'Shea and Pieters in the middle and Phillips and Townsend either side. There were also some clips with Kelly and TGH.

It's foolish to read too much into these short clips, but I also saw him working with about an XIs worth of players - something a lot of managers do is work drill the main team to begin with and then over time the other squad players are brought up to speed. I think the reasoning is it's easier to work with 11 players than 25.

I read somewhere that he doesn't favour playing a No.10, but I hope that doesn't freeze Swift out, as he is potentially our most creative player. I would stick him close behind the striker, where he may also get in the odd shot.  Also, in midfield, I'd like to see TGH and Yokuslu get the nod over Livermore and Molumby as they are better footballers.
Up front I'm a bit undecided between Cleary and BTA.
This would be my starting XI.

                                           Palmer

     Phillips               O'Shea                  Pieters        Townsend

                           TGH                             Yokuslu

     Wallace                           Swift                       Diangana

                                           Cleary/BTA
However, first few games, clearly CC's on a steep learning curve, so there's bound to be a lot of experimentation.

well we've potentially just seen the back 3/5 on twitter... admin just made a right cock up! put a pic of corberan holding a piece of paper....

Looked like...

Pieters left centre back, o shea in the middle and Kelly right centre back, with Townsend left wing back and Phillips right wing back with molumby 1 of the centre mids who'll drop back and collect from defence

Sheff Utd are on a poor run - no win in 6, only 3 pts from those games.

That’s even worse than us.

We may not be good enough to beat them, but the very least we deserve is that every player goes out there and gives it everything they’ve got. That’s where “new manager bounce” usually comes from, not some tactical revelation or a couple of coaching sessions that are so miraculous they transform a struggling team.

Energy, fresh optimism, a spring in the step.

We need to get on the front foot and try to take the initiative in a home fixture for once. We’re going to need another 38-40 points to stay up, and we can’t afford to hang around much longer.

This feels like a very important game.
