Further damning evidence that Gourlays head should sacked. Found the money for his pal and his son and had to pay him off when they could have been moved on for free and now rumours we are struggling to afford a new gaffer.

Classic WBA under Lai

100% could have got Corberan in the summer as well, I genuinely don’t think there’s a worst club in the U.K at the moment.

Presumably that would also involve paying Gourlay off. 😫

There isn't. Our leaders are an embarrassment to professional football.

Not sure how his contract works but I'd be looking at gross misconduct from Gourlay

Sure these supposed ITK on twitter are making it up. Because if they're not their source will be looking for a new job soon.

I wonder if Carlos thinks a better opportunity might arise at Leeds United in the not too distant future?

If so, it’s out of RG’s control

Beinv very bad at your job doesn’t amount to gross misconduct. 😬

They could try to sack him on competency grounds, I suppose. But it would no doubt involve a deal, as it does with managers.

Unless there are other performance clauses….

I wouldn't say he was bad at his job. He neglected his duties. He failed to carry out due process and procedure. He rang his mate and got him in. No questions asked or thought given.

Someone, somewhere saw what was coming before he was appointed and insisted on a break free clause to protect the club. Under Gourlays sole support of Bruce this was allowed to elapse ensuring his mate got the pay off we were all told he came for.

That's far beyond being bad at your job

Whatever news will emerge with or without the white noise of gibbering nonsense from twitter accounts that claim to be ITK.

Personally I'm off to work now. No doubt the there more will be revealed tomorrow.

It's likely that agreement has not been reached yet, probably to do with contract length, as opposed to money per ce.

Supposedly we're on the brink of administration, if you believe the Twitter folk.

Time will tell

I don't.

Talks breaking down, administration??????Why can't we just appoint a manager like normal clubs do? If a football club could be a diva, we'd be it. Rumour is we offered a really really poor salary - that must be wrong surely?  :o

I don't understand why some on here seem to hang off the words of a couple of tweeters who rarely get things right.

One thing I've noticed when discussing anything Albion we are very quick to lay blame or think the worst. I have no idea and I guess most don't about what is going on with the manager search. I assume there is more than a hand shake involved in completing contracts. I'm going to play devil's advocate here Gourlay chose Bruce because he knew he was available, knew him and thought he could do a job, I assume because he thought he could turn it around. Bad decision, in my view yes but he stood up and made that decision and as the phrase goes "had some skin in the game".

I reckon there's more due diligence taking place with this appointment considering the mistake previously made.
