Sad to hear of the passing of John Evans a good servant for the club and Albion through and through RIP.

RIP.

Great guy, I recall him telling me a story of a time when he woke up in the middle of the night and realised he had forgot to lock up and wizzed back down to Halfords lane in his pyjamas to lock the doors.

He was a thoroughly kind, massively intelligent and thoughtful man. He did a huge amount for the club - much of it unseen - especially during some of the darkest days in the 80s and 90s.

Different people such as managers came and went - some not as pleasant as others - but Dr John was always a solid pillar of decency and professionalism. The culture of the club remained sound with the likes of Dr John around.

So very sorry for his family. He will be hugely missed.

Had to deal with him once and he was a pleasure to talk to. A true Albion man. Where have all these decent gentlemen gone?
