Could do with a stint on the bench.

Really annoyed by his performances since he came back from injury. Spends most the game sauntering around the pitch. Whilst he does link midfield and attack quite well, he needs to do way more in terms of goals and assists contributed. Desperately needs some grunt in his game.

Is there anyone you haven't targeted this season?

Targeted? I’ve merely offered an observation about a player who I think has a lot of ability but is playing within himself.

When he plays well his seemingly low work rate gets forgotten. When he plays poorly it comes to the fore.

He’s a class player but will always be accused of playing within himself.

Agree on that
I’m his biggest fan but can see he has had a couple of matches with lower impact.
Problem is…or at least was…who do you play in that position if you rest him without totally changing the set up?

Spot on.  That’s why he keeps getting picked, and we struggled when he was out injured

He’s the epitome of a player who blows hot and cold. When he’s at it he contributes in every way but when he’s not he can be very poor

Indeed, a bit like Diangana and Yokuslu.  They’re all human beings.

He has the ability to be our most creative and best passer of the ball. He looks to be a yard too slow and not the bravest in a challenge !

I like Swift and there’s some really good comments on here, particularly about players like him always getting these sort of accusations…

However, personally, I can’t help think he could give / do more. Has the talent to play in the prem, and it’s not ability that’s stopped him.  Perhaps harsh

Probably correct
There will be some that are happy being almost guaranteed a start and getting £25k (ish) a week .
Doesn’t make him a bad player/person at all..

What does Swift bring to our team? Fancy touches that end up with the opposition, weak passing and hardly a tackle. I really feel he's a waste of space and along with Diangana, I'd be quite happy to get rid of them both.

There was a patch of about 10 games earlier this season when Swift was outstanding, and scored about 6 goals.  People have short memories.

Diangana I totally agree with you.  He’s a spent force I’m afraid

Grady still a bit off it after his Afcon holiday BUT always looking to make progressive moves, works really hard and let me just check............scored the flippin winner.

Not the Grady we hoped he'd be, injuries have curtailed his progress, but a pretty decent champ AM.

Swift at his best is another class champ AM, but lacks pace and hasn't regained form following his injury.  DID put in some good back tracking tackles tonight.  Always trys to be involved.

Swift was poor when he came on tonight with sloppy passes, weak challenges and a lack of a decent first touch. Been very underwhelmed with his time in an Albion shirt truth be told and if we are to kick on he needs to be moved on this summer.

I could not disagree more. Tremendous asset for the squad, scored some belters this season, and actually made a vital crunching tackle late on this evening as we went on to win the game. Only three weeks ago he scored a screamer at Ipswich, how underwhelming did you find that?

not good enough imo to push us on to next level to inconsistent but should be worth a few bob in coming transfer window for club to make a profit. Need to break the habit of holding on to player’s that we didn’t sign to be making cameo’s from bench.

Rumours seemed to suggest Cov were in for him last season, and would love for them to buy him this summer.

However, with O'Hare fit after his long term knee injury I doubt they will be interested now.

Swift has his qualities and has done OK for us but I always find myself wanting a bit more from him. He is what he is, a solid Championship player.

IF this current squad (loanees included) had Matheus Pereira instead, it would be a better squad than the promoted squad Pereira was part of.

Swift is the one player for me who can see and execute a game changing pass. He also retains the ball very well and gets his fair share of goals
Ideal position is a number 10 behind a natural centre forward but without that option we have gone with a more pacy fluid front line, it will be nice when we have both options
He benefits from a run of games which his few niggly injuries have prevented
I would definitely keep him for next season after that we will see
