Burke, Sturridge, Scott sinclair, blanco, Davidson, anelka. All for different reasons. Who was that Egyptian defender we had?
Oh forgot about Samaras!

AMN, Diagne, Gallagher, and Yokuslu. All loans ok but showed us what we might have been able to get instead of what we have

I would have expected those four to be under the best loan signings to be honest [all behind Barnes and Gayle], but you are right insofar as they majorly showed our team up for what it is. Remember AMN calling a meeting to tell our team to buck their ideas up? And look at Gallagher now, playing really well at Palace.

Another comedy episode from our club.

To name a few in no particular order:
Burke
Zohore
Sturridge
Lugano
Lee Marshall
Samaras
Rosenberg
Anichebe
Giles Barnes
Greg Krychowiak
Ivanovic
Diangana's identical twin that we got on a permanent, I much preferred his brother who we had on loan!!

Lee Marshall is more like 20 years ago, we signed him summer 2002.

Given the amount we probably shelled out in wages I have to say we got a pretty poor overall return from Gareth Barry. A formerly very good footballer whose legs were clearly on the way out given how little game time he had in the season prior to joining us. Harsh perhaps but he was a real disappointment for me and a modern day Andy Townsend, all be it a better version.

And a special mention on behalf of 'Absent Jacko' for the one and only 'Captain Fantastico'. I don't actually think he's been one of our worst players over the last ten years but it would be remiss to leave him out of a slating. It's practically a .com tradition anyway regardless of the absent one's derision  ;D .
It doesn't matter how many resources you have.

It was definitely a retirement home for him here!!

Got to respect him for taking the blame for robbing the taxi though, even though it was Captain Fantastico!  :-X

Note how many CFs are in the list.  It shows that it's not s easy or cheap to get a good one.

Going back over 60 years, I don’t know where to begin.

But I do know we have had some outstanding World Class players

Interesting seeing some of those names. By no means one of the worst 10 but Gabby Tamas is 38 tomorrow and is still playing regularly in the Romanian first division.

Gamboa Gabr lugano mattock
 Sinclair AMN Krychowiak Burke
       Lambert Sturridge

Top 5 lazy players:
Luke Moore
Zohore
De freitas
Anichebe

Could any other club compete with that list?

Burke at £15 million takes some beating for any club I should think. A forward with not one league goal and as far as I can remember not even an assist. Not sure how you can make a worse signing.

A very good example of why you don't go shopping on the internet:)

Burke has to be at the very top though, we were royally mugged off there - thanks Tone.

In his limited defence he did manage two goals and an assist in those generally forgettable thirteen appearances though.

For me, this guy is without a shadow of a doubt the worst signing…

James McClean.
