Maja
Heggem
Styles
Fellows
Johnston
Price

That's it. Anyone else I wouldn't be bothered about.
I wouldn’t disagree with the 6 at all . Can’t really think of any first team squad regular worth keeping.

For various reasons the only ones I would consider are Heggem and Price, and neither of them would be anywhere near our best team in the last twenty years.
It is not the taking part, but the winning that counts.

Exactly what about Johnston's 2 goals (in one game) and 2 assists saves him?

Why single out individuals, as I have suggested previously this squad is mid table championship.

If Bristol City are 5th then this squad is not mid table championship I’m afraid, player for player we should not be losing to them, they have the Derby county central midfield from a couple of years ago and we swatted them away with consummate ease earlier in the season when we had a capable manager.

Grant was shockingly bad again this evening and I have no idea how he stayed on until the 80th minute. He is back to the Karlan Grant of old which is not a good thing

On the basis that I think he's better than we've seen and that it's unlikely anyone will give us back the £3m we spent.

Don't forget Wells is older than Noah and scoring goals like we rightly expected Armstrong to be scoring.

Precisely. How anyone can describe our squad as mid table is beyond me when you look at some of the sides around us. I hear it far too often on here and it’s nonsense I’m afraid, we have a top 6 squad, we should be in the top six and would be under a capable manager

A stop six squad should be capable of winning away from home against bang average teams irrespective as to who is manager.

Sadly that just isn’t true either. We were in the relegation zone under Steve Bruce, does that mean we have a relegation quality side? No, the manager was just awful and he is the one responsible for coaching them during the week and setting them up tactically in games. Unfortunately we are now back to the level of management we had under Bruce as was called by a few members on here after a few games and it has proven to be correct

Not at all, under Bruce we were under performing, for a period under Corberon we were over performing.

Moving forward our realistic goal is to make the play offs and hopefully secure promotion that way. We have no divine right to expect a top six finish with this squad.

Yes, absolutely valid point and very true I think having tried Bruce and Mowbray we try Bungle next.

As this management thing is overestimated.

Surely, with your logic we should be keeping Grant too because no one is going to give us £15m for him.

We knew what he was like as his form dropped off completely at the end of last season and I said we should not be buying him and only risking another loan for him.

The alarm bells should have been ringing when the Celtic dropped his price from £7m to £3m, and I only wish he had chosen Burnley over us.

First we need to formalise a top six squad.

He has improved his work rate but he isn't a striker and he isn't a winner and he's not a number 10. As he has scored a few goals in first half of season maybe somebody will come in for him and allow the continued rebuild
O Albion we love you

Both Grant and Fellows have bombed since Tony 'Attack, Attack, Attack' Mowbray turned up.

He's got 5 assists not 2.
Anyway back on topic.
Grant is one of a few that just aren't playing as well in a Mowbray side.
As a whole team we aren't creating enough good chances.

I think Grant's best skill is his powerful low right foot shot. He scored several goals with it after cutting in from the left in his first season, but I can`t remember the last time I saw it. He obviously does a lot of work tracking back and covering the left back position, but that´s not his primary task. He needs to set up others with chances and/or get into shooting positions himself. That´s his most important job.

He’s started several games recently and spent a lot of time on the pitch. The common factor being a lack of goals from the team .

Mowbray didn't fancy him when he first came in, bombed him out they had an argument and he's been back in the team since its very strange.

He's not the worst offender but he's just not good enough as a footballer, doesn't create enough, doesn't score enough but 'works' hard. Need to get rid and bring some genuine pace in.
Think Grant must of read what I wrote a few days ago, I thought he was fantastic today best game all season for him today.

Slightly overstated in my opinion. Best game this year I'd agree with, but that's not a particularly high bar. He had some much better games earlier in the season under Corberan.

Delighted he scored but let’s be real. He scores & assists once every four months.

He obviously got the goal and that does count but he really doesn’t want ever tackle and his decision making is still very poor, twice in the second half he could have squared for people in much better positions but went down his usual cul-de-sac
I also thought first 20 mins him/lankshear/fellows were all falling in to each others space…that’s not specifically grants fault, they looked like they hadn’t worked in this line up in training ?

He’s just driven past me on the Birmingham Road  :-X

I’m guessing something may have kicked off post game?
