I think a lot of his credit is because he tracks back consistently and is clearly putting in a lot of effort. However, I'm more concerned with what he adds as a forward, and that's where I find him limited. He has a poor positional sense in that he never seems to find pockets of space and seems to run into cul-de-sacs with the ball. Top strikers have an instinct around the box where to stand and make runs, which is why they score frequently. He's also one paced. He tries to take on backs for speed but he misses the balance and composure to go different ways like Johnston and Fellows can. If Johnston could find his form from last season, I think it would be a no brainer who should be starting on the left wing.
