First club my Dad took me to watch when I was just a nipper, and have always had a soft spot for them. Absolutely fantastic win tonight against League 1 opposition

It's my hometown, as i imagine it is for quite a few on here, so i should really go more often! Fair play to them, they have some heart i have to say, and it's always good to have some pride in the town. I've only been twice to the ground i have to say, once when they played eastleigh, and the other a league game. Should go more, but i can't stay away from the hawthorns, and it's tough to get tickets for stour!

Only tough for nights like last night to get tickets, I've started going down there regularly this season when Albion aren't playing and its always pay on the gate nice and easy to get tickets. Going there has actually helped get my love of football back this season and its a massive achievement for them to get through, gutted I had work last night or I would have gone down as I had the late offer of a ticket.

yes cracking result for Stourbridge last night and another example of how good non league football really is, I love non league football, cheap to get in and the standard is very decent, not just hit and hope anymore.

Honestly if you have never gone to a non league match and only ever thought about it then give it a try

Went up as my mate plays for them so had to give him the support.

Cracking day out, atmosphere was electric and they played so well. Bossed the game against a good league 2 side very unlucky to not come away with at least a draw. Very proud of them.

They do fantastic in the FA Cup. Read that in the last 7 years they have played more FA Cup ties than any other team, which apart from being a very proud record is also a cracking quiz question

It is. By round 3 they had played 7 ties! More than a premier league team needs to win the competition

Not only have they played more FA Cup matches than any other team in the country over that period of time, they have also WON more games in the FA Cup over the last 8 years than any other team. I think it's Chelsea and/or Arsenal that will have to go all the way and win the cup this year to knock Stourbridge off the top of the pile! I know the figure is distorted by the fact that Stourbridge have to win 4 games each season just to get to the 1st Round proper but it's still an amazing achievement, those games still have to be won. Up until 2009 when Stour lost 1-0 at home to Walsall in the 1st round proper, they had never reached the 1st round in their history. They have now reached that stage or better on 5 occasions and that has all been done on a playing budget nowhere near that of the top sides in their own league, let alone the sides in the divisions above.

It is a great achievement for Stourbridge.

They should be proud of their run.

Would love to have seen them draw a bigger club in the competition.

its not just the winning thats important...its rubbing the losers face in it after that counts

They should be proud of their run.

Would love to have seen them draw a bigger club in the competition.

Stourbridge have always been a bit unlucky in that respect. These are the draws they have had from 1st Round proper onwards from 2009:

Nov 2009: 1st Round: Walsall (H) 0-1
Nov 2011: 1st Round: Plymouth (A) 3-3 (H-replay) 2-0
Dec 2011: 2nd Round: Stevenage (H) 0-3
Nov 2013: 1st Round: Biggleswade Town (H) 4-1
Dec 2013: 2nd Round: Stevenage (A) 4-0
Nov 2015: 1st Round: Dover Athletic (A) 1-2
Dec 2015: 2nd Round: Eastleigh (H) 0-2
Nov 2016: 1st Round: Whitehawk (A) 1-1 (H-replay) 3-0
Dec 2016: 2nd Round: Northampton Town (H) 1-0
Jan 2017: 3rd Round: Wycombe Wanderers (A) 2-1

Walsall at home was obviously a huge occasion, local derby in their first ever 1st Round match. Plymouth away was also an exciting draw and an unbelievable result home and away. Other than that, with the possible exception of Northampton at home this year, the draws Stourbridge have received have been particularly underwhelming to say the least when you consider the football league opposition they could have faced. On top of that, missing out on a attractive draw has also cost the club in the biggest of all paydays, that of televised games and the TV money that goes with it which is as much as the combined prize money for the cup run in itself. Only Plymouth at home in the 1st Round replay in 2011 was televised and that was only on ESPN.

On a side note, I think the choice in televised games in the 3rd round this year has been a disgrace. Not one of the 5 remaining non-league sides in the 3rd round had their fixture televised yet we had to endure the same old sides on the telly yet again. So much for the magic of the FA Cup. The BBC make a big deal of the traditional, historical romance of the cup in their trailers and promotional pieces yet their actions totally contradict that. Man Utd, Spurs and Liverpool all on yet again but they were all at HOME against lower league opposition. In years gone by these teams would have been undoubtedly televised against such opposition but only if they were drawn AWAY, with a greater possibility of a cup upset.

Agree totally. Man Utd have had 55 consecutive FA cup games televised. How is that possibly the magic of the cup
