I'd be bringing on Swift for Grady asap. He offers way more in the 10.

Didn't Heggem get on the end of one which whistled past the frame of the goal or am I misremembering again?

No you are right Dan i had forgot about that one. Funnily enough i think that came from one of the poorer deliveries of the day.

I thought our deliveries against Oxford were better but again, i didn't think we looked threatening at all? One observation i made was that our 6 ft 4 central midfielder was on the edge of the box for every corner, can't get my head around that one.

I can't believe i'm watching the same player that was here a few seasons ago. Probably the only bright spark of today, the finish for his goal was brilliant.

I'm not going as far as some knee jerk reactions on here wishing for his release clause to be activated but he has to freshen things up in midweek. Wallace shouldn't be playing striker under any circumstance, like others have said i don't get why Cole isn't featuring on the bench. I thought both the central defenders were poor today, Fellows was completely none existent all game and i'm still not convinced of the Mowatt/Racic pairing.

We have a good squad now and it's getting very predictable with our starting line up, i just hope he isn't stubborn and makes the necessary changes. I don't share the view of some on here although i respect every opinion, we could do a lot worse but i trust him to turn around this form.

I have been critical at times over the past few years and felt it was a position we should target to upgrade but no complaints at all from this year. As others have said he has been a consistent performer this year, maybe having a bit of competition has improved him.

I sat there today not for the first time thinking why are we not more of a threat from set pieces? When you look at the regulars in our team, from corners we have at least Heggem, Bartley and Ajayi on the pitch and in the last couple games we have added Racic into that yet i can't think of us ever really threatening from a corner. There was even one point towards the end of the game today where Heggem wasn't even going to be in the box for one until he was told to at the last minute.

In games like today a set piece could make a difference, maybe it's a time to look at a set piece coach? It has worked for a couple of teams like Aston Villa and Arsenal.

I just wanted to give this a bump because i thought he was brilliant yesterday yet again. After Birmingham at home a few years ago i thought his career here was done but the turnaround has been great, long may it continue.

I know his goal input has been great but the way he drops a bit deeper to link up play makes us so much more dangerous going forward. I feel like any success we have this year could hinge on keeping him fit all season.

I can't believe how easy Tom Fellows makes it look at times to beat a man and get the cross in, brilliant.

I'd love us to make a statement and go top, early in the season or not. I will say i think Portsmouth isn't going to be an easy place for teams to go to this year and this league throws up strange results every week so anything can happen.

It was the defensive side of his game i was really impressed with yesterday. When we were under the cosh a bit second half he was brilliant tracking back, long may it continue.

When you think Jadon Sancho is going to go for around 20-25m and Liverpool signing Chiesa for a reported 14m, you realise how stupid Birmingham have been. In other news based on this transfer my valuation of Tom Fellows has now gone up from 20m to around 40  ;D

For me we now have the squad to seriously compete for promotion, time for them all to deliver. Well done to all involved.

Buzzing we have managed to get this done, he seems excited to be back as well. Hopefully we might get a cameo tomorrow if he signed in time!

I feared what might happen this window but i think we have managed to do really good business which in my opinion gives us a great chance of challenging for promotion again. Huge credit to our new owner and for the first time in a while i am optimistic about the future.

Stoke win race for Tom Cannon. Percy

Would usually say that's a good signing but Stoke have a tendency to ruin anyone who i think is decent so will reserve judgement.

What a boost this would give everyone. I might be wrong but i am sure he went on holiday with a few of the team this year...hopefully they are in his ear now trying to get it over the line. Burnley have had such a high turnover of players this year so i'm not convinced they will be a certainty for promotion.

We have to prepare for this eventuality at some point.

Though it is likely to be next season after a full season under his belt where that trepidation will appear.

A successful season this year and we're looking at north of £20m next season.

Completely agree. I understand we need the money but i really do think another full year of playing consistently we can sell him if we are still in this league for a higher amount than we will get now. The 10m being quoted by the Daily Mail is embarrassing.

Phenomenal start to the season. Key passes and combative.

Completely agree. I'd go as far as saying he could be our most important player in this system. He is so comfortable getting the ball off the 2 central defenders, i just hope we can keep him fit all season as we are going to need him.

I know very early days, but I have only seen the little cameo against Leeds live, so what are the thoughts of those who have seen more of him please?

I thought he was bright when he came on today. Won a foul in a good position when we were slowing the game down and didn't look out of place. It's nice to have a level of competition in the middle now and i think when he is fully comfortable in the league i wouldn't be surprised to see him in the starting 11.

One of these players i am going to enjoy watching whilst i still can, I'm convinced he's destined for the top. That stoke left back today had the run around, i bet he was glad to see him go off.

I thought Heard, McNair and Whitwell looked good, the rest not so much. The atmosphere there felt like a pre season friendly, you know it's bad when you can hear people talking as the game is going on. I will reserve judgement on the new lads until i see them in the first team set up but i think it's fair to say i expected a bit more from them yesterday.

Interestingly I thought this and nearly posted it. I decided not to because I thought people would call it ridiculous.

Rumours of him walking obviously haven’t been true as you say, and he probably hasn’t threatened it either, but some worry within the ranks that he might walk may well be true and may be why someone would have had a quiet word with Beale (from our youth set up, not Michael)

That makes three of us! Watching his post match interview would make you think we lost 3-1
