He is proof that there are players abroad who can easily do a job in this league and above and it's where we should be doing the majority of our scouting. I had never even heard of this guy or the league he was playing in yet if you were to ask me are any of our players premier league quality, he would be the closest.

We’re trying to build something under the new owners after years of going backwards. We can’t just keep changing managers every time we go on a bad run, it’s not worked for the past 10 years and we’ve got a very promising young manager at the club. He just needs to be braver.

He tried something different today with the 442, didn’t really work but you can tell he’s getting frustrated with the performances and trying to figure it out. It’s pretty bad atm but I’m sticking with CC.

The most sense that has been posted on here in a good while.

Top 6, lightened the wage bill, players appear happy with CC, yep Patel must be chomping at the bit to sack him.

Every interview he does he talks about what an asset CC is, the thinking that he sacks him after a little bad run like this is comical in my opinion.

Tonight would have been a good point any other time but with drawing games against teams like Cardiff, Millwall, Oxford and Blackburn obviously some aren't going to be happy. The team looks low on confidence but i trust him to turn it around again.

Sacking a manager when we have lost 2 all year and currently sit in the play offs would be crazy. I seem to remember another club not far from us doing that, wonder how that worked out? Think they were playing Mansfield last week.

First 2 changes are so obvious Wallace and diangana

I'm hoping we make them soon and take the game to them a bit.

How many times has Palmer kicked it out of play now? Inviting pressure.

What point ?that he didn’t have any service?I would say any football fan in the world watching that would say we haven’t set up to attack

So we're not set up to attack but are winning 1-0, you're making a lot of sense there.

It's been a poor half from 2 poor teams but i don't think we've been really troubled too much defensively and have managed to get a goal on the break from a bit of magic. The worst thing we can do now is sit back like we did against Oxford and try and defend the lead, lets be pro active and try and get another for once.

I still would like Molumby on for Racic as i think he offers more, the little flick he attempted was embarrassing and was lucky not to cost us.

How ridiculous does this sound !1 chance 1 goal

It was a great finish but the point still stood at the time, did you bother celebrating the goal or are the team set up too negative still?

If you understand the fundamental of the game, usually the ball needs to be in there final third for attackers to be involved ,which is hasn’t been !

Guess i must bow down to your fundamental knowledge then! No effort from him at all and Wallace is getting pelters.

It sounds like they have a lot out injured and i know Doughty is not available due to suspension, i want to see us on the front foot and put a statement win out.

It must be hard having constant set backs, hopefully he has a good support system around him.

I’ve always felt Corberan gets lucky and we get the best options when we are forced into selection’s,not that he deals with it well.
In Friday we will be “forced” in to playing a back four which is probably the best that we have
Furlong ,Heggem,Holgate and Frabrotta
However these four have never started a match together and that’s disappointing bearing in mind how slow and tedious the playing around the back has been.
No doubt some will be willing to give the manager credit if we come away with a positive result .

So if we come away with a good result Friday CC doesn't deserve the credit have i interpreted that right? Bet you will blame him if we lose though  ;D

Like someone said above, i think there's a reason personally why Heggem has started at left back over the options but i hope i'm wrong. Although Styles looked good coming forward he got beat too easily a couple times defensively and my friend who is a Barnsley supporter claims he is never a left back. Frabotta deserves his chance and hopefully he can take it.

Will be more cautious than ever with todays news

I think you are going to see what the majority want in defence now in fairness. People wanted the Holgate/Heggem partnership with one of either Styles or Frabotta at full back. Suppose we are now going to see how this works.

Someone on FB said they were at the open training today and the formation looked different.

On the ball he said it was a '2 up top' with Wallace playing alongside Maja.

Off the ball Maja dropped into the 10, leaving Wallace up front I assume.

Cole and Dobbin replicated the same drills etc as the back up 2 I imagine.

If Wallace upfront is the answer i don't even want to hear the question.

« on: October 29, 2024, 01:42:03 PM »
I agree with this,he moves and makes the runs but most of the time on Saturday by the time he gets the ball everyone can see it’s coming to him .
Our general movement when we have the ball is poor …out of everyone on Saturday he and Maja looked more mobile and that really needs to improve .

It's one thing that needs to change quickly, we can be so slow on the ball and its not even just passes to the wingers. I'd love to know how much time we spend with the ball at the feet of one of the centre halves or Mowatt. Everything just needs to be that bit quicker.

He hasn't hit last years levels yet but really should have had an assist first half, i also don't think he should have been the first one to be took off on Saturday. You watch him and he gets so frustrated because they're so slow to get the ball to him sometimes.

Ludicrous in your opinion
People keep saying they have faith in him turning it around
But not one person can explain why he brought Wallace on at Blackburn for 1 minute ???
6 games no wins
Scored one in the last 5 and non in the last 3 home matches
The squad rotation and lack of it is shambolic …
But he’s not Bruce so yeah it’ll all be ok .

You talk about the last 6, the first 5 games we won 4 and drew 1. You can't just take into account the last 6 games and claim he has to go without acknowledging what a good job was done in the first 5. That's why i have faith he can turn it around because he has already proven this season he can put out a team that can do it.

His issue is that we started off so well it set a standard with people that they are all falling short of at the moment. If we're sacking managers when they have 6 iffy games then were going to make Watford look a stable club. Again, this does not mean we are not allowed to criticise him because we are.

I said after Blackburn we should put him back in but i am more than happy to admit i was wrong. Takes way too long on the ball sometimes, would be looking at trying other options in that number 10 position now.

No manager should expect not to be criticised after 6 without a win but i can't help but feel today regardless of how boring the football was we had more than enough chances in that first half to win. I'm not sure why our finishing tends to be so bad at home.

I trust him to turn this around and calling for him to go in my opinion is ridiculous when were 3 points off the automatic places, not 3 points off 24th. That being said it's clear to everyone that something needs to change in the balance of the team and a few things need freshening up.

Dependant on injuries i'd like CC to try and mix it up a bit for this one.

                          Palmer

Furlong        McNair     Heggem     Styles

                 Molumby    Mowatt

Fellows                 Maja               Johnston

                          Grant

I don't think he would do anything like that. Maybe play MJ in the 10 with Maja upfront and Grant out wide. I'd also be inclined to drop Fellows because he has been none existent the last couple but not sure who i would replace him with if im honest.

It's a difficult one because Karlan Grant has had a great start to the season but i just can't help but feel MJ would offer more. I feel like its unfair to judge him this season when he's not had a consistent run in the team.

Devante Cole must be wondering what he's got to do to even be named a sub. Bored of seeing the same players put in below par performances.
