Fully expect Pulis to be here at least until the takeover completes.

Before that happens we've probably got 4 games, then we hit the next international break. His time here could all hinge on these 4 games with the new owner.

Totally agree with that starting 11 if all are fit.

I'd even swop Wisdom for Gamboa as it looks like he'll never get a game.

I agree with Poc.

I don't think McManaman would gave been anywhere near match fit to play  a full game of yesterday's importance.

Gamboa?  No idea.  I haven't seen him play since Costa Rica.  Neither Irvine nor Pulis can rate him based on what they see in training.

Letting Varela go was the big mistake

I think the majority of us fans would have Poc in at LB.

McManaman is coming back from injury and 15-20mins game time yesterday would of been great for his recovery, plus we had 1 sub left if he did have a reaction.

Gamboa's a mystery, maybe he's just not settling in England... plus he's not tall enough for set pieces!

I would give Wisdom another chance and move Dawson to CB. It looks to me that both Gmac and Lescott's legs have gone and there's no coming back from that. I'd drop either or both of them and partner Dawson with Ollson or Lescott.

There's got to be more to Varella than meets the eye. Lazy? Disruptive? Unsettled?

Do you really need me to spell it out for you? We don't have that many options but we do have a couple. Yesterday we were as pedestrian a side that you'll see, so the introduction of McManaman would of helped. In upcoming games why not pick Gamboa or Poc? That's why I said TP needs to grow a pair and stop picking slow cumbersome defenders.. Its not like its working is it.

You mean counter attacking with our speedy wingers, overlapping full backs, and clinical finishers?

Why not... If fit then McManaman RW, Poc LB with Brunt LW & Mozza/Sess AM behind Saido.

Drop Gmac and move Dawson to CB and put Gamboa/Wisdom at RB.

We can't afford to start with Brown or VA as the lack of effort chasing down defenders or movement in the box when attacking was embarrassing yesterday. In the 2nd half they gave Leicester's defenders the easiest half of football they'll have this season.

TP needs to grow a pair quickly and bring some pace into the side for the remaining games, or we will be sweating it out on the last day of the season. 

Carry on with those plodders on the pitch yesterday and we are in trouble.

Ben seemed really pumped up for the game last night... Probably too much as it affected his decision making and he had a bad game. He needs to calm it down for Saturday. As for dropping him... can't see it, he's still the best we got.

Anyway, i'm hoping the strategy of win @ home draw away is for the league only, and we'll be more expansive in ALL cup games, I suspect TP recognises that different competitions require differing approaches. Here's hoping !!

I think the strategy is more likely to be one of... not letting a team we're in a battle against relegation with, gain any points on us in a match we can affect. Being away reinforces that strategy.

Hopefully next Saturday we'll see a more attacking game from us.

Can't see Downing staying now, so time for a fresh challenge where he's concerned. I think Kiely may be given until the summer to see if he's up to it in TPs eyes. Seperating KD & DK may have the desired effect with Kiely, who knows. Either way thanks KD but ta ra.

..and with Hull & Leicester on the likely look out for a new manager in the next few weeks, how would we feel if Pulls went to either of those.

In the immediate aftermath of Irvine's sacking, all the talk is about Tony Pulis or Tim Sherwood taking over. So if it was a straight choice between the 2 who would you choose?

I'd have to go with Pulis as he has the experience and nous to get us out of relegation danger this season. I worry that with Sherwood we would just be carrying on with the current theme of promoting inexperience and it'll ultimately result in relegation.

Of course there will probably be other names linked in the coming days.

I think if you read between the lines the club do not want to sack Irvine but fans negativity will mean he is sacked.

So I cannot see Downing being considered for the job this time around given hes recieved the same amount of flack.

It really is a mess and as Oldburywba says could have been avoided if Peace had grown a pair in the summer.

I truly think that, after yet another inept performance from Irvine yesterday, JP has made the decision already and the reason Irvine hasn't gone yet is above in bold. JP won't put Downing or Kiely in charge, for even one game, as i think their time is up aswell.

I'm hoping for an experienced man, who's tactically aware, can get his point across, can affect a game with subs and gives every player a chance. That includes the current untouchables, bench warmers & summer signings. This squad needs galvanizing and I'm certain there's a decent team in there somewhere. We just need the right man to mold it and it ain't Irvine.

How on earth is this man still in a job at West Bromwich Albion?

1. He has absolutely no intent on winning games with his selections.
2. His ability to affect a game is zero, just look at his substitutions.
3. We have not scored in 7 of our 16 games this season... (9 out of 16 if you include OGs)
4. Currently on a run in which we have not scored in 270 mins of football.... (450 mins if you include OGs)
5. No tactical awareness.
6. His brand of football is Dull,dull,dull. Bearable if your doing well, but we're not.

Apparently, though, he's a good bloke & coach

It really is up to Alan Irvine now, the ball is firmly in your court. Stop rolling out the 'not match fit' excuses to not play a more attacking side and grow some balls. I fear he hasn't got it in him though and will be gone by the Liverpool game at the latest.

I can still remember that feeling when we found out Irvine had been appointed, utter despair. Nothing over the summer has made me change my mind about this appointment, but I will say that we have to give him 10 games (inc cup games) to gauge how this will pan out. I feel though, like many others, that we already know the answer to that.

There's got to come a time where Downing feels a burden and gets embarrassed that the club get into a disagreement with potential candidates because of him.

Its called doing the right thing. Something Downing cant be familiar with.

Surely he'd get another coaching job elsewhere.
