West Bromwich Albion FC / Re: Mr Carson
« on: March 01, 2011, 12:10:51 AM »
watched game on sky carson still looks out of position in relation to his goal would never have got near penants free kick that went over and it was no way near corner of goal. should have been stronger for goal push delap and dorrans out of way. concentration and kicking still poor and needs to get ball into play quicker when he catches it thomas has pase to burn.

West Bromwich Albion FC / Re: Meite - an overlooked option
« on: March 01, 2011, 12:02:19 AM »
meite is a good defender if we let him defend and not try and play out of the back . gave carson a lot of options when scotty`s kicking started to go a stray, stopped a lot of sjokes forwards from getting settled on ball. he looks[ fingers crossed] like a signing we should have got in january he looks like the no noncence defender he was at bolton

carson 6 lucky penents free kick was just over because he wouldnt have got there. kicking still a big problem and still not concentrating for the full nintey minutes. should of been sronger for the goal

shorey 7 solid and kept his winger in his pocket all night, gave an out let going forward

reid 8 put his foot in were it hurt and pushed the winger on the back foot great cross for goal

meite 7 looked sharp for a defender on his first outing cut out numerous balls so stoke never got a foot hold

olson 7 won a lot of 50-50 balls in the air and on the ground.

this back for looks really solid, carson has to buck up

thomas 6 for the first thirty minutes he was out of game but when roy switched him with brunt he came more into game

brunt 7 brilliant tackle to stop jones in second half, but the switch really benifited him

mulumbu 7 broke up a lot of ball in the middle

scharner 6 dives in when there is no need and dosnt focus for the full 90 mins

dorrans 8 ran midfield unlucky not to score dragged us through the first 45

midfield solid and a bit of bite in the final third

fortune 7 came into game and held up ball really well, have to credit him will work all day

subs vela 7 class above , tchoyi 6 needs to be aware of whats around him, odemwingie 6 thought he would show roy a bit more

manager 8 tactics were first rate, for the first thirty mins we had no out ball but when he switched brunt for thomas albion never looked back even when we went 1 down.

West Bromwich Albion FC / Re: What are folks general views on Vela?
« on: February 26, 2011, 06:21:11 AM »
roy has to play vela up top with the licence to roam either side of the two center halves, keep them on their toes. this lad is quality with a capital Q and if the balls come to him in the box he will test the keeper every time, pete should take note. oh yeah first name on the sheet in my opinion

West Bromwich Albion FC / Re: Realistic chance of staying up!?
« on: February 26, 2011, 06:06:04 AM »
west ham are our biggest threat out of the real bottom five, blackpool, wigan wolves, west ham and the albion. the last minute goal against wolves should give us a real lift and make the players play roy`s way, wolves on the other hand will feel like they lost again, thats why i think they will end up bottom. wigan had a good result against liverpool and have the quality to get out of the bottom three either 17 th or 16 th. blackpool will end up in the bottom three, like us they leak goals. so it`s between us and those east end lot, lets hope they stay in the fa cup for a while longer they might take their eye of the real pie.
well what do you lot think.

West Bromwich Albion FC / prem refs?
« on: February 26, 2011, 05:47:55 AM »
:o just found out the chyte oliver is in charge of live game monday night, no points there then a soft penalty and olson off in a case of mistaken identity. on a more seriouse note can we be satisfied with the standard of these refs and lines men? you here the usual statement it evens it`s self out over the season, well in that case we should get five or six penalties and be playing against ten or even nine men in a couple of games but that wont happen, maybe in my dreams ::)

roy has only been working with the lads for a week, anyone in that situation would ask appy and other coaches about squad. the rdm factor could still be there, at least we played a 442 with players in right positions. pablo will get his chance tamas was the weakest link yesterday.

« on: February 19, 2011, 04:56:12 PM »
well i hope roy has looked at the video`s of our season in prem so far, the three big games that stick out for me are arsenal away best performance by an albion team in years[thats going back to the 70`s], defended from the front gave arsenal no time on ball and helped build a platform for a richly deserved win. everton away rode our luck but if their strikers couldnt score ours could and Man Utd away, have to give the lads credit for a great fight back and we could of won it in the end.
these three games show us that the lads can defend, can score with their first effort and have a good team moral so no more square pegs in round holes
