roy needs to have a rethink about not going back into transfer market, he obviously dosnt rate his back four thats why we have sharner and mulubu in midfield to protect them. need a decent center back so we can free up scharners place to a more forward thinking player

from what ive seen of the first two games i like our chances and hope that pete and shane can combine up front and run those big center backs ragged. has to be our best strike force in decades. ;D

A bit unfair, a lot of the under 21 team from last year are now too old. He's only being selected now due to people like Smalling, Richards, and Mancienne being too old for selection.
spoil sport, the lad has been tracked by a good few clubs before we nipped in so pearce would of had him on his radar for a while. :-*

well roy was impressed with a few players in carling cup so with that in mind

foster
reid
olson
dawson [ has to be given a chance and will be on cloud nine after getting call up]
shorey
thomas
mulumbu
scharner
dorrans
brunt
long
subs
odemwingie [still coming back from injury]
morrison      [ a tossup between him and brunt, who gets the call because he is captain]
tchoyi          [ thomas is a more team player tchoyi dosent even no what he is doing]
fortune        [ should get a run out after impressive show in cup]
cox              [ played well in cup scored goal and when he does that a bit like the buses three or four come a long at once]
fulup
tamas          [ tamas looks out of his depth, for a big man he gets pushed of the ball to easily and to prone to errors]

this could give the lad confidence and the man that mattered was impressed by his display, totally different option to pete and shane which is a good thing going forward in the season. so well done fortune, now replicate that in the prem ;D

West Bromwich Albion FC / Re: weakest link?
« on: August 24, 2011, 05:25:32 PM »
The players may come in and out of form, our negative fans are always negative and therefore they are the weakest link. We have lost to last seasons Champions and runners up (slits wrists).
the point i was making was that on the performances so far of the four midfield player`s brunt has been the one that could be replaced by dorrans as the other three have started the season pretty well.
going on a bit of a tangent, if roy improves the back four by new personal or the defence tightens up what would your formation be? id go for 4 - 4 - 2 with only one holding midfield player. the team would be foster, reid, olson, dawson, [new center half] shorey, mulumbu, thomas, dorrans, brunt, or morrison, odemwingie, long.

I didn't know that about him. He doesn't look imposing, so I assumed he would be susceptible to being pushed around. Hurling looks like lacrosse on steroids.  :o
strong as an ox very good upper body strength look how stong he was against alex no worries from me.

West Bromwich Albion FC / weakest link?
« on: August 23, 2011, 12:28:33 AM »
at the minute is chris brunt our weakest link in midfield ? i think he is, the two games so far his performances have been below par. dorrans should replace him against jstoke.
against Man Utd he left reid one on one with young on numerous occasions and was at fault with not tracking back for second goal.
as for chelski he improved on helping out reid but i can remember only one pass [but what a pass] he completed going forward and his corner taking was well below his usual standards [maybe im wrong but the other three midfielders mulumbu, scharner and morrison have to be on the team sheet before him if you are judging performances over the first two games] i rate brunty by the way.

Just a thought. If we were to get a quality defender in before the transfer window closes could Roy take a chance on using just 1 player (Mulumbu) in the defensive midfield role thus giving Dorrans more opportunity to get into the starting line up?
good shout but it would take a few games for new defender to bed in, i think the midfield is going to cause roy lots of headaches with the quality of players we have for those places, dorrans, brunt, mulumbu, scharner, gera, morrison, thomas, tchyoi, thorne and possibly hargreaves :D good luck on that one roy.

the lads were unlucky and had chelski on the back foot for most of first half. have to say well done to waddle and savage who heaped lots of praise on the albion best bit of honesty ive heard against the so called big four in along while. they played poorly because we out fought them for a good hour and it was only two individual errors that cost us a result. roy will have the lads ready for Stoke, thats when our season will really start. oh yeah terry and cole are dickheads.

« on: August 08, 2011, 10:57:10 PM »
the albion`s  average gate has increased year on year from the early ninties until mid noughty`s then the recession hit, we are still a fairly well supported club with no dramatic falls in  attendances not like those fair weather seals or jstoke the latter`s attendance was around 15,000 the year they got promoted. as for coventry, derby and those dogheads they havent got three teams so near to them.
