Don't we own the hotel/pub car park opposite? So could we not re route Halfords lane and make the turn earlier and then get rid of the original top end of the road and then take Halfords lane back?

The Greggs, which I presume you are referring to, is a listed building that cannot be touched.

Sheff united have lost 10 times in play off finals I think.

Fingers crossed for 11.

There are definitely names out there that even if they didn’t have any experience, because of their football brain you would still be interested…
Please note this is all hypothetical and I have no idea if they have ever expressed an interest in management, but Toni Kroos,Luka modric, pirlo,Paul scholes and Gundogan all come across as obvious future managers .

Forgot to mention Pirlo, has managed clubs too.

I always thought when we redeveloped the ground we rebuilt the stands in the wrong order.
If we had done the east stand first we could have moved it back and took up some of the car park. Then if the two ends were moved across to meet the new east stand, there would have been plenty of room to build a proper stand on Halfords Lane

We had no choice.

The rainbow was already all seater, whilst the Brummie and Smethwick weren't. The government gave grants to clubs to go all seater, that is why they were built first, and without government assistance we couldn't afford to pay for them then.

I also agree with the first two points. I was once mistaken for a NUFC supporter in a pub because our navy is so dark, and that's the shade I want! And that pink was just appalling.

However my favourite away kit (and I do like the green and yellow) was our black one when T Mobile were our sponsors.

The programme for the 2008 Fa Cup semi had our colours as black and white.

Having said I like the traditional dark blue, and it says more about the idiots printing that programme and their lack of knowledge than it being too dark.

That black umbro top with T mobile, you mention, is also one of my favourites, although I wear it less these days as the umbro on shoulders is wearing away.

Can you explain the rationale behind Heitinga? I mean, other than him being part of title winning coaching team, which is good, I’m just curious to know more.

I’d be happy with any of those that you’ve mentioned. Mousinho perhaps has little experience but the experience he does have is good so far.

I was impressed with his short spell at Ajax, and now that Cooper is not option (on this poll anyway) I prefer him as he knows the English game as a player and as a coach.

Hopefully, there is no release fee could also sway it for us in terms of loans we previously have missed out on like Doak and Koumas.

Much prefer him to Mason.

I wrote on another thread regarding Mason, that we have to ask the question why nobody else has gone in for him.

When Blues were looking for a manager they went to spurs and it wasn't Mason they wanted it was Chris Davies another coach there.

I don't want him.

Heitinga is my first choice, followed by Muslic and Mousinho.

Saw a name on the odds list that seemed interesting for no apparent reason to me and I feel only Smethdan may be able to advise on why…

Thiago Motta.

Anyway moving on from connotations of the word Motta…he was at Bologna 22-24 and seemed to do fairly well there. Went to Juventus, less so. But the Bologna link interesting. Currently sitting at 25/1 so nothing to suggest he’s coming, just haven’t seen the name before.

No chance.

There are several reasons why I advance the argument of a New Ground and maybe we don't have to move further than across the Halfords or as mentioned earlier  if we can acquire other land on the east side of the ground. The point needs to viewed in the context of Lepkowski's article.

His gripe is that the club should be doing more to engage fans and grow the fan base which has the obvious benefits in terms of our financial strength. I am broadly sympathetic with the argument although personally immune from the lure of corporate hospitality or extending my matchday experience but each to their own.

My view is that if you really want to galvanise the club and take everyone including it would seem the fans out of their comfort zone then nothing would do that quite like getting new and significantly larger stadium I plucked an ambitious number out of the air 40,000 seemed to do the trick. Filling it is a challenge unlike filling 26,000. It completely changes the landscape.

I agree with those who point out it could be the biggest of white elephants, if we are marooned in the Championship. However the PSR regulations cap what Bilkul can spend on players but they do not cap what they can spend on the stadium. In the longer term an investment in our facilities will give us more money in the future.

There are of course limits to what Bilkul may be willing or able to spend. They are not obliged to spend anything. I wouldn't mind if they didn't after all it isn't my money. However an ambitious stadium project is in itself a statement of intent it signals to fans and potential fans that this is different this is bigger.

Build it and they will come.

I've used that Field of Dreams line many times on here regarding ground expansion, only to have it shot down by " Peace, was right we couldn't fill our ground", blah, blah, blah.

Our ground looks very aged now and hopefully the introduction of waiting lists will lead to expansion, but feel the cost of such an endeavour is beyond the means of Bilkul, and I think whoever they sell us to after stabilising the club and getting it promoted will be the one most likely to entertain expansion.

I don't know what has triggered this something on social media or a news report that I've missed but there has been a major move on the betting markets this morning.

Firstly Eric Ramsey has come in to 2/1 but has been joined by a completely new name John Moushino also at 2/1 and Ryan Mason has drifted from 5/4 favourite to 4/1.

Not sure what to make of it but plainly money has gone on those 2 potential candidates.

I mentioned John Moushino when Corberan left, as he has done brilliant job at Pompey.

Problem with him is that he signed a very long contract not long ago, if I remember correctly,

Given the norm of release clauses these days, I am sure he'll have one, but probably not as much as the reported £5m Rohl has.

there are some very loose rumours going around from a local Hull journo that Selles could be replaced by none other than Tony Mowbray.

Hull have bought in a head of recruitment who has close ties to Mowbray

twitter account is @mikewhitesport that is reporting on this

Fingers crossed this true, because if do have to pay up the other 2 years of his contract we would have been foolish to have paid it all upon his departure rather than putting him on gardening leave hoping someone will give him a job.

He loves football so hopefully won't want sit around getting his salary from us, especially having missed a with his illness.

Am I right in thinking that since the clock struck midnight ion the last day in 1999,The vile,Tge Dingles,The blouse and Smallsall have all plumbed the depths of League one…whereas the best club in the midlands hasn’t ?

No, you're wrong, but the scum did plummet to that depth many years before we did.

Couldn’t fill the ground when they were in the Championship - closed the top tier for most of the season - big club when they are doing well but not so when they are struggling - more fickle than we are

Exactly, I would hate to imagine (I love it really) what would happen to their "support" if they had the 16 years in the wilderness we had.

16
No thanks, but wouldn’t be happy moving my seat in the back part of the Brummie. Palace have an exciting team, which may help the atmosphere somewhat. I stand up when something exciting happens…. this season my buttocks have been fairly numb by full time though :D

They had the atmosphere long before "this exciting team".

Doing nothing isn't going to solve the problem and even when we had exciting teams the atmosphere wasn't anything special.

17
If we have to have safe standing in the Brummie, put it at the front so they can get rained and snowed on in the winter and to deter folk from blocking the gangway before the match. Personally, I think it looks rubbish, but if fans think sitting in an iron cage makes them want to sing and shout more, so be it . Atmosphere is mostly generated from what’s happening on the pitch and it comes naturally both during the game and from the generality of the clubs trajectory. I think younger fans want to experience standing up, similar to how they feel the need to have the ‘Uni’ versity experience… you’ll never get back to how it used to be in pre cotton wool days, half hearted attempts to recreate it will never do for me.

You need to go and see how it has worked at no mark club like palace before dismissing something because you don't think it will work.

18
Personally, I would put away fans in the east stand as that could work logistically, and then we can charge them the highest price possible that we charge our own fans and negate their noise by having safe standing in both the Brummie and Smethwick.

We have to try something as the atmosphere is non existent at most games.

He needs to bulk up a bit and play more regularly on loan elsewhere until Christmas possibly and then be reassessed again.

A shame he wasn't already out on loan in all honesty.

Reading fans were right about Swift. Good on his day be only when we could be bothered to turn up...

Diangana probably equally frustrating although you can't fault his efforts unlike Swift just doesn't have the consistent quality. Often runs into blind allies and then cost us the play offs. Why Corberan didn't hook him off at HT in that 2nd lg I will never know...

Ajyai okay squad player won't be missed

All the loan players returning wouldn't have them back tbh

Need to sell Wallace, Bartley, Mowatt, Furlong etc hopefully can convince the newly promoted teams they're championship experienced

Hopefully we can get 15m plus for Fellows from a team like Everton (I assume he will be off)

I have asked this to you several times before, but did you see the 2 against Southampton in the play offs or did someone tell you "Grady cost us the play offs".

Nobody, who saw those games could say we didn't go through over the 2 games because of one error.

We couldn't score in the home leg and they were better than us in the second leg where Martin used his dark arts to add advertising so that the furlong long throw was nullified, and we couldn't score until it was too late.

I think Grady has been a massive disappointment, and wish we had instead had a better chance of getting Eze, but he was always going to pick a more established London based club over us.

Despite all his faults you could never call him lazy like Swift.

21
Wilder said they wanted him last summer as did Burnley I think.

I doubt the latter will touch him now, but hopefully Wilder will do us another Burkesque solid and take him if they stay down.

Boro not getting into the play offs will put pressure on Michael Carrick imo even though Gibson is not one for knee jerk reactions.

Their squad should have done much better and I am really shocked to see Whittaker do an Ugbo there, as I really rated him and though they had got an upgrade on the departed Latte Lath.

Oh Riis is out of contract? That wouldn't be a bad signing at all upgrade on Cole

To be fair Nat King Cole would be an upgrade on Devante.

How ironic it was the last won something significant.

If Leeds do Farke him off, I would definitely be on the phone to him about taking over here.

4 promotions is great record at this level, and a lot better than our last manager.
