What an unbelievable goal that is tonight, don’t know if we’ve got him on some good form but if he keeps this up he’s one of the best wingers in the championship & needs to be purchased next year. God knows how Celtic fans hammered him but thought Rogic was the saviour.

In equal measures that was a superb & frustrating performance. Dominant up until the sending off, we created enough chances that should have been 3 or 4. Swift was so unlucky with his one off the post then completely fluffed the easier chance but him & Wallace absolutely terrorised Norwich don’t that right all day.

If we had any semblance of a striker, I like BTA but he was largely poor again today I thought. Still in the right place for the goal & has got us the 3 points.

Massive massive blow this is, I’d say he’s been our player of the season so far.

Absolutely superb coaching job that by Carlos, limited Cov to mostly half chances the real big chance takes an unfortunate deflection & lands perfectly for the striker. Bartley, Kipre, Matty, Mowatt & Grady pick of the bunch.

If we can ever get Sarmiento, Maja, Swift & Dike back fit we’ve got a team that can challenge for the playoffs so long as we don’t loose Corberan & keep everyone fit.

0 creativity out there for us. Did Kipre & Pieters complete a pass to another Albion player in that half? Both so sloppy in possession. There’s nothing on the bench to change it either.

I am encouraged that Lai wants out, we could be in a situation like Reading where their owner seemingly wants to cling on for dear life. At least Lai (from reports) has decided to cut & run.

I was sat in the Blues end last night I’ve never in my life seen a reaction to a decision like that, they were all going mad at the ref as they thought he’d given a goal kick, the bloke next to me said I’ve no idea what he’s seen there. A complete shambles of a decision that swung the game. The foul for the 3rd goal is also as soft as charmin, you can’t account for refereeing decisions like that.

We moved the ball well but no cutting edge, I thought Blues defender their box really well. BTA disappointed me when he came on, he didn’t hold it up at all and gave the ball away cheaply a few times.

I felt robbed coming out of the game & still feel robbed this morning, a draw would have been a fair result.

Wouldn’t be the Albion if they didn’t make it harder than it needed to be. Played some superb stuff in the first 40 mins of the 1st half & the first 20 mins of the 2nd half. Thought we lost the attacking edge when Phillips came off. Still it’s all about getting results which is what the’ve done so job done, however loosing control of the game again against a team with 10 men is concerning.

Mowatt, Kipre & Swift very good. Thought Pieters had abit of a nightmare he needs to be rested on Friday.

Think we’l make hard work of this tonight it wouldn’t be the Albion if they didn’t, I can see it been abit like the Blackpool home game last season when it bounced nicely for Yokuslu in the box.

I think he should start Sarmiento tonight, we’l need to rotate the squad and his defensive liability will be less exposed against a Wednesday team I’d imagine will sit deep.

I have a suspicion we might turn these over tomorrow, we have played better the past 2 or 3 games and we’re seeing less of the individual mistakes than we saw at the beginning of the season. 2-0 Albion for me.

I am fully aware that Kipre will go & drop an almighty testicle in the first 5 minutes & we’l get comfortably beaten now I’ve said this.

Need 3 goals to win a game of football again, another poor performance but would have taken a point prior to the game. Sarmiento & Mowatt have to start Saturday.

Twitter seem to suggest a long term injury after Bristol City, any news on here?

Not seen anything other than the Twitter rumours. To have Dike in his 2nd game for the club be lost for the season & if Maja is gone long term in his 3rd appearance for the club really is rotten luck. I’d love to see a fit Dike (I know) & Maja up top in a 2 I think the’d cause no end of problems for teams.

Bellingham is some player, I’ve not seen an England midfielder glide past players with such ease since Gazza.

Is Corberan without his faults absolutely not if he didn’t have his faults he’d be managing in a division above us. However he is still a bloody football coach & we will be a better team for having him at the club.

Albion fans need to come to the realisation we are now a run of the mill, bog standard championship team. Our league results these past 2 years have shown this, that’s down to awful recruitment, awful contract management & directionless ownership.

Even if we finish 18th this season Carlos needs to be at the club to oversee a changing of a new era for the club, we’ve got an awful lot of the old guard out of contract next year that will be moved on (I hope to god we have new owners willing to sensibly invest in a good recruitment team). Carlos needs time to embed his ideas into the club with players suited to play that style of football.

It’s taken Arteta years to get it right at Arsenal, Same with Pep & Klopp not saying Carlos is on the level of those guys but it takes even top managers years to implement their style & recruit suitable players to that style. Carlos was backed with 3 new players this summer, he’s not had chance to overhaul this team.

Watching the highlights back Maja should have  buried the chance at the end. He did well in the build up to get round the guy and commit the defender but the shot was too close to the keeper, he had a good 4 or 5 yards to aim at the right of the goal the keeper wouldn’t have got to it.

Thought Carlos got that wrong from the start today. A Warnock team is always going to sit in and make you play infront of them, that was crying out for Sarmiento to start today as aside from Grady he’s on the only one in the team who can beat a player.

Our football was too slow & too safe. Thought Palmer had a dreadful game should have done better with the first, was glued to his line when he should have come for balls & dropped 2 or 3 crosses that should have been routine.

Carlos said it on his interview on WM we can’t keep conceding 2 a game and expect to win games of football. I have no idea how he changes it though.

Chalobah should never pull the shirt on again, he’s downright lazy & a shocking footballer to boot.

I would be disappointed if we sold BTA for £4m, bearing in mind:
-£4m buys you diddly-squat these days
-BTA is our only main fit striker and regular starter
-Nobody else available to lead the line and his work rate / hold up play is very under-rated
-He is getting better with each week as he gets used to the league, every chance we could sell him for a lot more in January or next summer if we need to

Agree with this it would make a lot more sense to hold off until January if we can, if he goes and bags 10 league goals by Christmas that only increases BTA’s value. Dike should be back for by then (keeping him fit is a conversation for another day)so we have the depth to cover BTA leaving if it comes to it.

I can see this been a turgid affair similar to last season, I’d start Sarmiento we’l need that bit of magic to unlock what will probably be a deep lying Huddersfield side.

I’ve had my suspicions that City’s dealings this Summer have bern done with the intention to get the wage bill down & spending under control in order to meet FPP after the allegations last year.

Sterling, Mahrez, Laporte, Cancelo, Gundogan all off the wage bill in the last 12 months which will be a considerable saving along with selling some of the standout young players that have come through or are coming through the academy which hugely aids FPP spending.

It could be seen as City admitting guilt to the FPP charges & getting their house in order to see if they can get away with a slap on the wrist as they now comply with the rules.

At an absolute minimum BTA should be going for £4-5m. £1m to reinvest in another striker & £3m to pay off the debts. £2.5m Stoke can get stuffed.

I’m not saying he’s anywhere near that level but he has abit of a Diego Maradonna style about him when he has the ball, low centre of gravity, dogged & really close control, he’s an impressive player with the ball at his feet.

You can see why Brighton have loaned him to us especially Corberan as his defensive work off the ball needs a lot of work, I don’t think Carlos will trust him to start yet he may do against Huddersfield where I think they will sit in & frustrate us. I certainly don’t think he’l be trusted against the bigger teams where we need to defend more he’d be a liability defensively at the moment.

Much like the Swansea game we lost all control of the game after the subs were made, if we can shift Mowatt & Chalobah out and bring a decent defensive midfielder in I think that will be more important than bringing another attacker in (a left sided cb is also a must). If Yokuslu or Molumby get injured at any point we are in big trouble.

For the Boro penalty Chalobah completely stopped tracking the runner and started walking, he’d only been on the pitch for 40 seconds he’s an absolute liability.

Still for 68 minutes that was mostly very good, Matty Phillips was superb caused the full back all sorts of problems, Swift & Kipre also very good.

Who was the manager that signed Chalobah ?

Ferguson signed Juan Sebastian Veron for a then British record £28m does that make him a bad manager? Recruitment is a process with many people involved not just 1 bloke.

Corberan has clearly identified the ones not up to the task & the club are trying to shift them out.

It’s clear Carlos is starting to put his mark on this team, we’ve had a lot head out the door / looking to head out the door which let’s be fair have certainly contributed to the gradual decline of the club. Bar O’Shea & possibly TGH fans would have been happy to see the likes of Bartley, Button & Grant leave the club. With rumours of Kelly, Mowatt, Chalobah & Grady been shopped around Carlos is trying to shift the deadwood. This re-set has needed to happen for a long time.

We’ve got a lot of work to do now to bring 3 or 4 in now though.
