Let down massively by Brandon in a game we were controlling really well and must be disappointed that players couldn’t defend a set piece with Townsend losing goal scorer. Second half I actually thought we would be more under cosh and can understand his substitution’s as we haven’t got a player in midfield who can create an opening.

What ever league we are in next season we need someone who can hold up ball at the top of pitch a quality that Brandon doesn’t possess.

Brandon won Sunderland those points today for being unable to trap a ball, after the team were in total control of game. That being said criminal that we couldn’t defend those final few seconds with Townsend letting his man have the freedom of the Hawthorns. Result today would have  probably cemented our position in 5th now we are looking over our shoulder at Norwich who are point behind. Nice one BTA.

Brandon couldn’t trap a bag of sand and then to allow them to score is awful, give this lot 3 points heads have gone already.

On paper a game we should win but unfortunately we don’t play on paper, haven’t had a decent 90 minute performance since Plymouth away. Carlos needs to let go of handbrake for this one play Fellow’s, Grady in the hole behind Brandon with Mikey on left wing. Think I would freshen up midfield by giving Yann and Adam a run out at the expense of Okay and Mowatt.

Wallace scored our second but was anonymous for majority of game attacking wise we had no outlet on right wing that changed big time when Fellow’s came on for the couple of minutes.

Still boils down to the terms he would expect, we need to cut our cloth accordingly if we don’t go up and he is on a big wage currently. Kipre is the one I am more concerned about us keeping given his age and the season he’s had, yesterdays mistake aside.
Bartley out of contract in Summer so don’t think a one year deal would break bank as for Kiipre he’s been treated appalling by previous coaches and only hope Carlos has sold him a vision for club going forward.

Watched the game yesterday and thought he was our best defender on pitch and most vocal player, not his biggest fan but if we are still in Championship would be happy to see him in stripes for another season.

Had a few one on ones and blatantly pulled back at one stage but Townsend and he never really linked up that well together and as first half progressed his influence diminished by dropping to deep to be effective.

Carlos got his team selection and formation wrong today just to accommodate his captain, Wallace is for the time being our second choice winger and can do a job as emergency no 9. Moving Grady out on right wing to accommodate him in whole didn’t work today and should have been rectified in first half. Give coach credit for getting Tom on at break but his tinkering cost us 2 points imo.

Frustrates me at times but today he was sacrificed to play out on wing so that Wallace could play in the whole. With Mickey and Tom our form wide men and Grady doing a good job as a number 10  why change a winning formation. Jed is at the minute second choice winger and emergency no 9.

Take a point particularly after that first half no show, Carlos got his team selection so wrong today. Needs to wake up and play his best 11 which imo doesn’t include his captain.

How's Wallace playing? He was pants against his old club last season
no show but had best chance for us but miss kicked it which has summed up his contribution.

Carlos makes changes to keep Wallace on pitch is just ridiculous and to make matters worse he puts him in the hole behind Wiemann and moves Grady on to right wing. CC give your head a wobble put on Tom put Dianganna in at 10 and get your pet off the field.

Fellow’s on bench a head scratcher for me  :o Tom and Mikey should be first names on sheet. Wallace has been poor compared to these two of late.

First half we were very passive and with our first bit of penetration Fellow’s scores, much better performance second half and once Jed scored second it’s all about game management.

All keeper’s errors are highlighted as the invariably culminate in a goal, what worries me is his distribution with ball which has been poor.

Give them credit for second half but pathetic performance in first, Mikey Johnston can do no wrong in Albion shirt :D

This lot still a sleep including the Coach, Reach isn’t a left back he’s a bloody central midfielder. Made QPR look like one of the best teams in Championship but we have topped it Huddersfield looking like Barca.  >:( ??? :o

Wallace isn’t a centre forward and offers nothing in that role, prefer to see Wiemann up front a position he has played. Think Carlos is just starting him because he’s captain, which ain’t on.

How we got anything from game is beyond me two pieces of attacking football all game got us a point. Line up was poor with Reach and Wallace particularly bad. Said since he’s been moved into number nine Jed is ineffective doesn’t hold ball up just tries to flick it to no one in particular. Thought Kipre was save of game but Furlong beat him to it. Dingle Don impartial as ever, never a penalty and justice was done.

Small squad update from todays mail

https://www.birminghammail.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/west-brom-injury-update-matt-28732920

Phillips might be back for Bristol this month, if not after the international break.

Maja - back after international break hopefully CC says

BTA - Maybe Bristol too.

Squad will be looking strong and deep for this level after international break.

Only flaw is that he’d cost too much now to buy!
not if he scores the winner at Wembley  :P

I thought Reach did excellently on and off the ball. Both at left back and then further up the pitch. I do not understand the negativity. Coventry are a very good side, great win. Real team effort and lot of smart tactical decisions. Mark Robins is no fool and this wasn’t akin to rolling over Plymouth.
Reach didn’t look comfortable at left back gave away a silly free kick, misplaced a pass inside which led to counter attack and that’s just of the top of my head. All needless when he had Bartley on bench complacency had set in and was only restored when the common sense substitution was made. On the win thought the two wingers were outstanding with two well taken goals and made a quality opposition look average in first half, we look like a cracking outfit when our passing is on song.

I could not disagree more. Tremendous asset for the squad, scored some belters this season, and actually made a vital crunching tackle late on this evening as we went on to win the game. Only three weeks ago he scored a screamer at Ipswich, how underwhelming did you find that?
not good enough imo to push us on to next level to inconsistent but should be worth a few bob in coming transfer window for club to make a profit. Need to break the habit of holding on to player’s that we didn’t sign to be making cameo’s from bench.
