West Bromwich Albion FC / When did our expectations change?
« on: November 03, 2013, 09:52:32 PM »
Saw a few comments about the atmosphere from the weekend, a comment got me thinking, can't remember who it was exactly but it was something along the lines of.

"Expectations will change and then the atmosphere will go" (Now, that wasn't exactly the comment but its basically the point that was made). In reference to the atmosphere Crystal Palace are able to create at the moment in what would you say is their 'celebration year'.

Ok, so basically its like it for pretty much every club eventually, the expectations are increased by a vast amount and the atmosphere is a bit more tense and edgy, which is what stage The Hawthorns is in now, on the most part. You could use games like Saturday as an example.

There is no doubt that there has been a change for the atmosphere in recent years and I'm not going to go on one of these rants. ' Lets make it an intimidating atmosphere' etc........... as we have seen that plenty of times.

I'm just curious, was trying to jog my memory in thinking, when did our atmosphere change? How many promotions/relegations did it take??
Until basically the expectations got to a level we were not used to and the pressure on the players to get the results didn't make it feel like a home game as such.

Was thinking the other day of doing a thread on your worst match ever after seeing previous threads but in a more positive aspect. As BaggieBoy has put one in for Worst Away game, i will just do home games.

West Bromwich Albion FC / Next 3 games

3 big games coming up, some of you may consider the 2nd a distraction but from the views gathered on The F.A cup thread i think most of us would like a good cup run and of course we have a great opportunity with two winnable fixtures to help us progress.

Posted this on the influence of previous threads where we all set our personal targets on what we would like the team to achieve in the next 3 games.

Reading (A)
QPR - F.A Cup (H)
Villa (H)

I am going to give my quick and simple view in that what i have seen from these teams this season has been very poor and i would be a tad dissapointed if we couldn't win all of them.

The two home games are the big priorities in terms of progressing in the cup and of course winning the derby, although to keep pace with those above us and to meet our league targets i would like to think we could get a positive result at Reading.

We have obviously been struggling a bit lately and to get three good results from these games should give us some confidence going into a spell of very difficult games.

What's everybody else hoping and expecting??
