I could understand why we made big changes for Chesterfield. We were just coming out of the busy Christmas period and they were a conference side that we should have seen in 90 minutes regardless.

I do think this will be different though. We haven’t played in 8 days and have nearly a week until we play again.

I’d go with...

Palmer
Furlong Ajayi O’Shea Townsend
       Molumby TGH
Wallace                       Diangana
              BTA Dike


Its been pointed out we are almost in a 442 at times particularly without the ball and I see reasons to give both BTA and Dike minutes which is why I’d play both rather than Rogic.  BTA has played the 10 for Salford too and I think he’ll be fine dropping a bit deeper.

Burke (from the athletic) has tweeted that Phillips season is basically over as he’s out for 3-4 months.

Games like tonight sadly show that, despite the great improvement under CC, the depth of squad is very limited.

Not sure about that,  think it’s just further evidence that burnley are far and away the best side in the division. Our squad depth is still strong in context of the division.

I don’t want to write him off yet and tonight isn’t his fault but he’s certainly not a £7m striker.  I’m not sure he’s fit enough at the moment and he’s not particularly mobile. Could he do with trying to lose a bit of muscle mass in his lower body perhaps.

Lost to the best team in this division, by far. Disappointing to concede so late. Unlike others I attach no blame to CC, they simply have better players. We move on and continue to hunt down a play off spot.

I agree. CC had to do something. That doesn’t mean he got it wrong as there may not have be a ‘right’ answer (although I said before he came on it wasn’t a situation for Rogic IMO).

From about 30 minutes on they’ve been far far better than us.  Very good value for their three points.  In part we’ve allowed them too much of the ball but we shouldn’t discredit them either, they’ve taken the ball and forced us back.

Neither can I. Matter of time until the score in my opinion. Whether they go on to win depends how early they score.  We need to be better on the ball and stop giving it straight back.  Lay off trying to counter for 10 mins because we are just giving it back.

Wallace is almost playing as a second striker at the moment though.  He's more advanced than you'd see TGH.

I'd maybe go Rogic for Grady and move Wallace to wide right.

This isn’t the game for Rogic in my opinion. He likes to go missing too much and we can’t afford that on the back foot with a 1-0 lead.

We’ve been desperate for half time.  Difficult to see us keeping a clean sheet here and it’s worrying how often they are throwing themselves over in the box that the ref will eventually give one.

Furlong going mad at the dive I’d typical football hypocrisy though, I’ve seen him do it.

The state of championship finances are frightening. 

Kieren Mcquire has tweeted about Preston's position this morning. They are surviving on some pretty big director loans. Bear in mind, they don't spend much, and I imagine will have fairly average championship salaries.

Hey Tim,
Were you at the Hawthorns when Burnley were very lucky to get a draw?
Also, wouldnt you agree that CC team is better now than SB team?
If as i believe our team is now better then i think that we will not lose and in fact can win at Burnley.

We are clearly better under CC than under Bruce overall, but I'm not sure to date we've seen any better performances in a given match, than we got at home to Burnley or Watford. We were excellent in both. 

It is clearly not that simple that now we are better, the result wiil be better. We could play well and still lose tonight.

There is nothing new in the meeting minutes.

Unpopular opinion but I’ve said in the past that it seems many of the Assembly just like to feel important (not all, as some like a member on here who represents disabled supporters clearly does have a valid reason).

This strikes me as a similar situation that’s perhaps made a couple of people feel important. Apparently the meeting was an hour and half but as far as I can tell, it was a waste of time.

Always strikes me as a strange little ground. Anyone know if they've still got the wooden seats in the away end? They had them last time we played there in the Premier League, always thought it was odd (I'm assuming the rest of the ground has plastic seating).

Looking forward to the game, it's going to be a hard match and we'll need to be at our best to get anything from it but they'll also need to be at their best. Hard to call.

Going to go for a narrow win for us.

I agree. Almost like they got half way in to a big redevelopment project and gave up. I remember the first time I went (some monday night in the early 2000's) and thinking they had two fairly good stands and two, including the away end that looked awful. I think the same every time I go back.

If they finished it, it would be quite a characteristic  30k seater stadium.

Just had a quick look to see how Andrew’s got on in the national league during his short loan.  The stats suggest he had an impact. Yeovil lost his first game but were unbeaten in the other 7 he played. PPG this season with Andrew’s of 1.6 vs 0.8 without.

No idea if their fans would say his impact was that great or how many other factors affected that, but on face value it’s impressive.

I've only just realised the home game vs Wigan will be moved if we win tonight. That's annoying.

Infact, although I never want us to lose and I appreciate this will be unpopular with many,  I can't help but think if we had just drawn a championship side and gone out it would have been much better for us in the long term. We really can't be getting beat by a non-league side though, no matter how much some are trying to talk to the national league up.

Diangana TGH Rogic Livermore Reach
Cleary

I imagine it must be easier for certain positions like Keeper and Centre back to play successive matches. I'd rather not play Furlong but needs must if TGH is to play centrally.

Hopefully we can avoid using Dike, Yokuslu, Molumby, Phillips or Wallace at all.

As unbelievable as our form has been, Burnley’s is better (have won 11 in 12) and their only dropped points recently were to Sheffield United.

It’s quite something that we haven’t made up any ground on the top two. They both just keep winning.

Anything other than defeat will be a good result.

I was never sure signing Diangana was the right move, even though I rated him as player.  However I never would have thought he’d be as disappointing as he has been.  What we do with him moving forwards is a conundrum.

Morale wii be through the roof. That is in lots of ways the best result of the season.

Corberan truly has worked wonders in changing the mentality and getting the best from his players.

Hats off to him and the players tonight.

I agree, particularly with Burnley away coming up.

Well deserved win, much the better side...... but I didn't think we were particularly good either! We have another couple of gears IMO and Yokuslu was much quieter today than he has been for a while.

I'd love to know how much that ball was in play during injury time. Can't have been much

I remember SKP scoring twice in injury time at the hawthorns for us to win 3-2! Mike Newell was their manager at the time and was absolutely seething.

The only time I every remember us losing going in to injury time and winning a game.

Good summary, Lai is the biggest bag holder in this Ponzi scheme. The only question outstanding for me, is the terms of the co-investors, have they been promised a dividend yield, which is hidden from view, that Lai is servicing with loans etc.

As for posters wondering what questions were asked when the deal was done, I'm confident only one condition mattered to JP, which was proof of funds. Peace clearly had no care or interest whatsoever how Lai funded the deal. He could have got Kim Jong-un on board to put $100m in, it would not have mattered.

I agree Peace only cared about his fund, but it’s not a ponzi scheme.
