The only team looking anything like it at the moment are Brentford, but I can't see any of the top ten having much of a chance in the Prem without major surgery, and that definitely includes us.

A draw would still see us with a 9 point gap so not a disaster if we don't win.

The league is so close the chasing pack will take points off each other, so that'll help us.

Is Michael hector from Chelsea any good? I know he's playing for Fulham from now on. Played for Sheff Wednesday on loan last year.

Fulhams leaky defence is keeping them away at the moment, just hoping he's not going to solve their problems for them.

Rooney makes his debut for Derby as they beat Barnsley 2-1. He may well give them something of a boost, but doubt it will be enough to make them Play Off contenders.

My Wednesday pals were raving about him last season.

They wanted to sign him permanently but didn’t have the funds to do so

Booo!

He's made a permanent switch to Fulham in the summer and eligible to play from now on. Think they paid about £8m. I know he never made an appearance at Chesea so no idea on the guy.

Not sure whether the Fulham set up will suit him personally.

Very good ball playing defender but he performed well in a well organised Wednesday side under Bruce. He won’t have that luxury at Fulham

In any event, Brentford are the team causing concern for me. Thought they were excellent at The Hawthorns

Agreed, best team we've played. Better than Leeds or Fulham. I think if Brentford suffer a few injuries they don't have quality replacements though.

I think it was agreed in the summer but Brentford now have another very highly rated young striker - Halil Dervisoglu.

It will be interesting to see how he gets on.

Steven Fletcher stretched off after suffering what looks like a painful knee injury. The way Sheff Wed fans are talking, he was vital to their attack. They are saying it could be season defining.

Rhiannon Brewster signing for Swansea on loan to join up with his old England youth coach Steve Cooper.

From what i’ve Read, they have been quite poor this season, and yet still find themselves in 6th place and 11 points off us.

Brewster has had some rotten luck with injuries, but before that his youth scoring record has been very impressive. Certainly one to watch. Fingers crossed he doesn’t find too much form and be another Tammy Abraham.

He has been excellent this season - Wednesday are a poorer oufit without him.  Many would turn their noses at him but he offers more than Zohore and Robson-Kanu..

Doesn't look too serious at the moment - x-rays showed no break, just waiting on the swelling and bruising to ease, they reckon its a hyperextension.

Interesting tactic from Bielsa in the cup. Looks like he has gone with a very strong side, probably wanting momentum and belief by his players realising they can compete with top sides.

The contrasting view would be it’s a mistake long term and he expects too much of his players and burns them out. Proof will be in the pudding I guess

Ivan Cavaleiro has completed a permanent switch to Fulham today. You know that transfer fees have gone past the point of no return when a player can be signed for £7 million, fail to make his mark in the Premier league and then move on for £15 million.

On the subject of Cavaleiro, he might be the first sign of the real objective of Wolves owners/Mendes partnership, as first reported by the “football leaks” Der Spiegel/El Mundo expose - making profit through football via the transfer market.

Reports also that the likes of Traore, Neves and Jimenez are all being looked at in separate transfer deals (which could fetch some eye watering amounts). It’s not a bad thing for Wolves or their fans - in a way it is a different way of being a very well run club (albeit by using an ethnically questionable partnership), but it would dampen some of the exaggerated thinking of some Wolves fans that Fosun’s business model was “based on getting us to the champions league which is where they will then make money” (something I was told by a relatively prominent Wolves fan on twitter who is usually quite level headed/professional tipster).

Doubt if they will be doing much in the way of considering then.
