Ivan Cavaleiro has completed a permanent switch to Fulham today. You know that transfer fees have gone past the point of no return when a player can be signed for £7 million, fail to make his mark in the Premier league and then move on for £15 million.
On the subject of Cavaleiro, he might be the first sign of the real objective of Wolves owners/Mendes partnership, as first reported by the “football leaks†Der Spiegel/El Mundo expose - making profit through football via the transfer market.
Reports also that the likes of Traore, Neves and Jimenez are all being looked at in separate transfer deals (which could fetch some eye watering amounts). It’s not a bad thing for Wolves or their fans - in a way it is a different way of being a very well run club (albeit by using an ethnically questionable partnership), but it would dampen some of the exaggerated thinking of some Wolves fans that Fosun’s business model was “based on getting us to the champions league which is where they will then make money†(something I was told by a relatively prominent Wolves fan on twitter who is usually quite level headed/professional tipster).
