West Bromwich Albion FC / Re: Guochuan Lai
« on: September 16, 2017, 01:17:27 PM »
We are we are now without external investment plus ffp limits us to what we spend more than what we generate ourselves.
Mr lai is trying to generate more money by thinking outside the box with ECO towns and buying Chinese's players that could be sold at big profit.
If he has turned down 260 million buyout that means we are still a very good investment for a wealthy consortium.
Mr Lai doing a great job as majority shareholder in my opinion for little old Albion.

He has now tried to take the pi££ out of the fans saying Irvine's tippy tappy stuff got moaned at.
He is pushing all the buttons to get the sack and come out smelling of roses.
It is now untenable and with 1 win in 15 their must be some really good reason why he hasn't been sacked that the supporters are unaware of.

Have tried to digest all the thread so not sure if this has been mentioned - considering his comments yesterday about he has done what he was bought in to do anyone think he is on a bonus to see us through to sale completion, written in his contract by JP? and then thank you very much goodbye.............
Pulis has been thinking and talking long term though.
He obviously had transfer targets and keeps banging on about what he wants to do with the club if he can make the changes he wants.
I get the feeling one of the selling points was that we have a manager who doesn't get relegated.
I want him gone more than anything,. A club with him having more control doesn't bare thinking about.
Hopefully now the fans have started voicing their opinion its become untenable otherwise the matches will be toxic.

Also another point. Why! Oh Why!  When we had a friendly last weekend. Let's Berahino go on holiday then starts him today. Unbelievable!
Agree ,plus Pulis had been banging on how much he would like Saido to stay.
Well he stayed  Tone and now you can use him as one of your many excuses. Its as if Pulis is playing a game of sack me but what more could i do.

So as it stands.
We have a manager who wants the sack because he can't afford to walk.
A Chairman who has not got full control of duties.
An owner who can't wait to sell up.
A future owner who is having problems getting through the fit and proper test.
A wafer thin squad after a disastrous transfer window due partly to DOF and Head Coach on different wave lengths.

Brilliant.

I have never called for his head even though his football leaves me cold. He was brought in to do a job and he did it.
But now i feel his time is up.
We need someone who can get us playing again in now, before it's too late. I don't think TP would have the heart to make a fist of it now and would be surprised if he is here after the IB.
Let's hope we don't take as long as we do in most things firing him and getting a replacement, or it will be game over.
I don't have the opinion that players couldn't change their style under a different manager. They do if they are transferred to another club.

I agree .Also why waste another transfer window when our chairman has said we have money to spend.
Buying Pulis type players would set us back if he is going.

Hammond's job is to find players that will improve the squad ,first team. If their is some doubt about pulis staying beyond this season then finding players that just suit pulis playing style would be foolish and a waste of money.
Perhaps here lies the problem .Hammond is thinking long term with cammacho.
If this is scenario that has happened and with a new chairman and takeover imminent and a head coach who probably will go at end of season.
Then its a disaster that has happened.
Parting company with Pulis now and bringing in a head coach who has the same visionary as club would be the best outcome.

Can't wait for his next press conference. So many questions need answering.
Their must be conversation, s going on behind scenes after the total balls up of the transfer window.
Its been reported he is staying, but I have not seen any quotes. Was it the club who put it out or Pulis.
They might even be discussing an amicable parting.
Not spending a good chunk of your transfer budget and giving trials to out of contract players seems totally bizarre.

When it comes to Williams I firmly believe he is Chairman in name only, until that takeover is fully
complete its still the old guard in Peace and Jenkins running the show.

I agree , I don't think john Williams has the power that a normal Chairman has at the moment.
Hammond and Pulis don't see the club going in the same direction if transfer policies are anything to go by.
Normally a Chairman would decide which way he wants to go and act accordingly ,is a major decision needs to made.
I stiil think he is under instruction from JP who is only interested in getting the takeover through with out any major upheaval.
But its all going tits up because of this scenario.

Yet earlier last season we won, dominated and should have scored more at Villa Park.
I still struggle to weigh up TPs style , never understood him and don't think I ever will.
Play against better sides yet struggle against weaker not even having a go , baffling.

I live in Stockport  so pick and choose away matches i go to. Stoke is one i always go too. Mrs said got your stoke ticket yet. Not going was my reply.
Reason being i am not enjoying my match days anmore. I dont get the buzz when setting off ,just feel flat and  not looking forward to another dire boring game that doesn't  get me excited.
Last years game at Stoke was a prime example.  They had 2 players  sent off and we won 1  0. But we just took the lead and held on for the rest of the match,  totally boring.
I will still go to some games but cant wait for Pulis and his garbage to go so i can have my matchday experience  back.

I know it shouldn't  bother me but i am getting embarrassed at TV, RADIO, PRESS, and even my work mates saying WBA are so boring to watch (how do you watch that cr@p every week).
I am still proud to be a baggie of over 50 years and been through some bad times and seen some rubbish, but have never questioned  going to a game before.
I just hate this period in time regarding my beloved  club and want to go too a match excited and proud of my team again.

If john williams ,Chairman of WBA, wants to sack tony pulis over results ,performances,  transfer policy can he.
Does Tony Pulis have to stay as manager until takeover is completed.
Why was,nt berahino sold and money used on another striker their has been plenty of time to do this business.
When nicky hammond  was appointed  TD did we resort  back to the club being ran as under dan ashworth.

If they are monied enough to afforrd a premier league club £200m isn't that much It will be done when it's done. I expect the people moaning now about Peace would be the first in line to bash hin if he sold to a Venky's/Yeung type character.People seem to getting upset when no official word has been given. no point getting shirty with each other when we all support the same club. Let's just see what happens

But if villa wolves spend 100 million in championship they are still gambling  on getting promotion. With Newcastle with rafa a good bet plus norwich , derby, sheff wed plus others with wealthy backers i4s not a forgone  conclusion.
Where shouldshould we are the finnished article with planning permission.  We are premiership,  established  with everything  in place for future  investment to take forward.
Peace knows this and he is going to get every penny he can get.
Forget the fan  owner who takes some and insists on some money being invested in the club he will take everything  he can get and for me he deserves it..
We are now Premier league , just look at Villa Blues Wolves Coventry Sheffield clubs, Leeds and on and on.

When TP mentions our fringe players ,i cant help think he means Binge players.
While he is meticulous in working our back 4 ( i mean 10 ) the binge players look like they are working out in the mcdonads over the road.
We must have the heaviest  subs bench in the league.

Today's  team selection against a team who had serious  defensive problems was a joke,
I seriously  believe that pulis is not bothered  about being sacked. Financially  he would get a hefty pay off and could still say nether been relegated.
How can you play so many defensive players from the outset against a struggling team with  major defensive problems.
This man is short term and looking after number 1 . The club will suffer big time in the future the longer pulis is employed.

So are we the only club who have spent money ? How many others have spent money and are not utilising the players they have signed ?

Ever considered the players we have including those regulars over the past few years just ain't that good ?
I am not speaking for other clubs who have failed in signings re quality , just my own and
Pulis has spent and not improved my team from when he came in. The football is just dire and negative and set up not to get beat at all costs. YET we still get beat . So for me a more positive  approach would be more beneficial if not just more bloody entertaining.

I seriously fail to understand how anyone can have expected us not to be in a relgation scrap
We are an established  prem team and our so called manager has spent over 20 million quid on players and to me we look worse.

We set up defensively  against teams below us in the league after spending all week training DEFENSIVELY  and still lose.

Enough of this Dinasaur  ,defensive ,relegation fodder rubbish. Lets go for wins ,their are teams we can beat or draw against to gain enough points from . The pulisball will get us relegated because the blokes lost the plot recently and other teams are having a go.

Terry Burton really is trying to justify Irvines appointment , but he is just making it seem more stupid every time he opens his mouth.
He says Irvine is an excellent coach. Ok terry but his head coach experience is poor.
He says Everton are really disappointed to lose him. Really , I dont think their bothered either way.
Theirs nobody works harder than Alan , Burton says , great but does that mean he is a tactical genius or he has great man management skills. Sheff Wednesday fans will tell us they didn't see it.

I dont see on what grounds Alan Irvine has got this job.

I agree with Lloydy - the worst possible thing that could happen now is for us to accept the decision and return to our apathetic nature of 'what will be will be'.

We need to keep up the pressure on the board.

Irvine is just an unfortunate pawn in this mess.
Spot on.
The time is now to show how we feel with this absolute dire football appointment.
If we just allow this now while peace is after more control , more decisions like this absolute joke appointment will be made.
He is just surrounding himself with yes men and making himself very wealthy at the expense of trying to move the club on. How hard is he trying to get some investment in and take us to the next stage.

Whe Dan Ashworth was here , we had a philosophy of playing some good technical football aided by some cheap players with some technical ability.
The acadamy was also srarting to bring players through with some good technical ability,

What happens now with this appointment Alan Irvine is in the david moyes style of coaches

If irvine had been appointed Exeter city manager yesterday,  I would of thought he is lucky to get that job with his track record.
WTF is he doing turning up at Albion, Premier League. I cant get my head around it.

If the team have a god start, within a few weeks you will al be backing him. Peace won't go, but hopefully most of you moaners will. Pity some of you had to be Chairman because within a month you would be packing the job in. Lots of you are what is wrong with football. You think you know more about coaching and finance but really know SFA about neither.
We know what irvines record as a head coach/manager is, and what preston and sheffield wednesday fans think of him.
We know what style of football he plays.
We are entitled to a opinion,  just seems that 99.9 per cent of albion fans have the same one.

Jeremy.

West Bromwich Albion FC / Re: Can we get a season ticket refund?
« on: June 15, 2014, 12:28:10 PM »
Cant we get a refund under the trades description act.
We are allegedly trading as a premiership club.

25
If we lose say our first 2 games the atmosphere will be poisonous down the shrine.
It could get really ugly , fans have brought season tickets on the back of mr peace admitting mistakes have been made and he wont let it continue.

Then he makes the mother of all mistakes with the most unpopular appointment in the clubs history.
I can see major unrest down the hawthorns next season, fans will never accept this appointment.
The football department are totally out of touch with the supporters , I feel alienated from my club.
