We do appear to have a number of high performance cars in and out of the workshop don't we.
I think it’s the way the game is going . Arsenal , Man Utd to name but two have had loads of injuriesdifference being they can go and bring another in in showroom condition whereas the likes of us have to borrow great aunts 45 year old Austin Alllegro and hope it will last until repairs are complete !

It is similar to American Football in that part of the ball has to break the plane of the quadrant !

It is Bizarre
Diakite should have started and if not damn sure should have been brought on
Bartley might have the legs if he wasn’t trying to be a centre forward and continually being found in the wrong part of the pitch ,he was terrible today .
Perhaps he was carrying a knock and they didn’t want to use him unless totally necessary, I don’t know if that’s the case and I don’t suppose anybody else on here does either . He had a couple of very pedestrian jogs down the touchline 1st half but nothing serious in the second half.

He did all he could today, no glaring mistakes , couple of point saving saves

Team selection not withstanding we just weren’t good enough to win today. People saying we should have gone 3 at the back ok who in that scenario plays LWB ? Defence wasn’t the problem with the exception of Bartley who was utter tripe ! Midfield wasn’t really poor Swift operating 10 yds to deep Mowatt seemed way off the pace, Johnston threatened a lot but delivering very little, Molumby trying hard but isn’t a natural wide player.
Heggem seemed to be carrying an injury for the last 20mins hope I’m wrong and/ or it’s not serious.
MoM for me today was Holgate not only having an inexperienced full back on his side but constantly having to cover for Bartley

Seems a bit strange with this Styles injury we should allow Parker who was on the bench Tuesday to play last night in PL2:!

The FA has to shoulder a part of the blame by offering such a short term contract. Tuchel or any other manager isn’t going to plan to far ahead when he only has something like 6 international breaks before the World Cup . That said he has included Palmer, Lewis Shelly, Colwill,Gordon, Livramento , Rogers plus the injured such as Saka who will hopefully all have more than one more World Cup in them.
Hardest done by probably Gibbs White , and Delap. Biggest problem I see is who plays on the right hand side of midfield or attack

Just watching the Swift free kick , two things to look for, Armstrong push and shove with I think it’s Hannibal and Grady standing looking as though he knows it’s going in as Swifty lines it up !

Still a very good point with Coventry and Bristol City losing.
Thought Brizzle had equalised ?

Who’s missing out there? I can’t even process that bench I have no idea who the youth players are.
Parker & Mohammed are a CB and a LB . Surprised to see them there as at least one of them played most if not all 90 mins in the U23s or whatever it is last night

Yes, they should follow the great example set by those WHUFC fellas, look at the legacy, look at the development,

Have you been to Sunny Stratford? (outside the shopping mall). Its staggeringly bad for "a flagship area"
West Ham got given the Olympic stadium

So let the private sector fund it if its so appealing. Not having United saying how good it is for jobs when they are making redundancies. Not having Ratcliffe telling us how much money they're losing on one day then announcing plans for a brand new stadium the next. They want it they pay not the taxpayer !! Are Blues getting Govt help for what is a similar project ? Pretty sure Blues have identified and possibly bought land themselves for their project

THe rich and powerful always find a way.
I think Ratcliffes problems run deep. He’s pulled funding from the Admirals cup efforts. He also only owns around 25% of United so may be struggling to borrow against such a small holding

They should be told to jog on if so!
It’s true I tell ya ! How else are they going to pay for it they haven’t got a pot to pi££ in according to Ratcliffe ! In the interview yesterday he says they lost £330 million in the last 4 years , not sure how that works when FPS state losses are allowed up to a minimum of £105million over 3years. Begas the question of how they’ve avoided sanctions in terms of points deductions

They’re looking for Govt funding for it which just isn’t on !

West Bromwich Albion FC / Re: Brummie/Halfords Lane exit points
« on: March 11, 2025, 10:58:45 AM »
This has become a particular gripe of mine in recent seasons but Saturday felt like the final straw.

Can someone explain why supporters from the Brummie and Halfords are being forced down a narrow pavement whilst the whole road remains blocked off?

We’re pushing thousands of people into a tiny gap from both sides which is causing bottle necking. Some supporters then decided to push fellow fans through the gap which caused greater problems given disabled and young people are also pushed through the gap.

I was told that a terrorism threat is the reason why those steel gates cannot be opened. I am sorry, but that is quite frankly the most absurd thing I’ve ever heard. A terrorist may be prevented from driving down the Halfords lane but the thousands walking down the Brummie Road are fair game.

Can someone on the AA raise this issue with the club because I am interested to hear their response.
You can also add to that the pinch point they make with a council highways truck on the bridge by the station. The lorry parks at such an angle it leaves a gap barely wide enough for two people to squeeze through which is no good at all for those with young kids !

Young uns have just gone a goal down to a dodgy looking goal from a corner. Both Nelson and Parker are starting two of the younger players I thought we may have to turn to to cover the defensive positions during Furlongs suspension

« on: March 10, 2025, 03:55:00 PM »
If the appeal is still pending he will be able to play against Burnley. I think even if the club isn't wholly optimistic of a favourable outcome that might play into their thinking. There is some debate as to whether or not it was a straight red so I don't think there is any danger of it being held to be frivolous and attracting an additional one match ban so there is nothing to lose.
Wouldn’t we rather have him available against Sunderland at home ?

I assume Diakite is going to be the defensive cover if Furlongs appeal fails.

After the first 10mins at Leeds when he got caught on the wrong side of his attacker he seems to have been much more restrained in the last two games (as has Furlong )and defensively has been much better for it

In fairness it was never going to be a 2nd half for the likes of Bany ,Diangana or Swift ir was more for the artisans than  the artistes !

1st 40mins were dire I expected so much more after last week. Not sure what happened with the sending off but I do know that as soon as the card was shown the lad hopped up from his rolling position as if he hadn’t been touched.
Have to admit that if we are going to play with two wingers then Armstrong offers nothing .
2nd half wasn’t pretty but we did what we had to. Molumby , Price , Mowatt were superb at plugging holes , back four stood up and did their jobs to such a degree not sure Wildsmith had a save of any note to make.Dike was a brute when he came on and stopped the ball coming straight back. Mom for me and reversing last weeks result was Price , just, from Bart’s for me .
Would like to have another look at the alleged elbow from their bloke in the second half as it looked way more clear cut than whatever Furlong was supposed to have done
