The Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) said 43,230 people had died in hospitals, care homes and the wider community after testing positive for coronavirus in the UK as of 5pm on Wednesday, up by 149 from 43,081 the day before.

The Government figures do not include all deaths involving Covid-19 across the UK, which are thought to have passed 54,000.

The DHSC also said in the 24-hour period up to 9am on Thursday, 167,023 tests were carried out or dispatched, with 1,118 positive results. Overall, a total of 8,710,292 tests have been carried out and 307,980 cases have been confirmed positive.

That figure makes sad reading. R.I.P. to them all.

We don't want some scummy Midlanders down here bringing their Covid infested Carling cans down here messing up our beaches. :-X 8)

It doesn’t matter whether the beaches are in the South, East, West or North, it was irresponsible and very stupid to cram on to them like they have done. Idiots.

I was joking, but, it's amazing how much rubbish these people are leaving on the beach, hope they all go back to work soon.

Il be honest with you the world already thinks this already beaches or no beaches. We’ve been crucified worldwide for our reaction to corona and rightly so in my opinion.

I've been shielding since the start, and also working from home. It's probably been the toughest yet most rewarding time of my life strangely.

It's been tough on the work front as other than "work" phone calls, I've not really had conversations with people. But on the flip side, I've seen my daughter come on so much in that time that if it was pre lockdown I would have missed it all.

Having said all that I can't wait to just get out and get back to some kind of normality.

I've also survived the lockdown with my wife, which means if we can survive this period we can pretty much survive anything  ;D

Same here! Daughter is 20 months nearly and the last 3.5 months she has grown massively physically and mentally having us and her big sister around.

Massively rewarding time to be honest.

I’ve been furloughed 10 weeks now and I’ve recovered sufficiently from Achilles surgery that going back to work I can walk about and, more importantly, drive

Enjoyed the extended time off

Anyone got any clue whether Leicester City must comply with this lockdown as travelling both locally and elsewhere surely can't be considered as essential. I would imagine that the local people would be a bit annoyed if they were granted an exemption but wouldn't surprise me with the power of influence the Premier League has.

We have offices literally around the corner from the Kingpower (Aylestone road).
Leicester City FC can do whatever they want in and around Leicester, they are worshipped devotedly by the locals. The club does a hell of a lot in the community (often under the radar) and they are really appreciated for it.
As long as common sense is applied (testing etc) I doubt that Leicester folks will be a problem, who they are playing is another question though.

Leicester are at home so it would be Palace going to them this weekend. As current rules allow for games to be played I assue all will go ahead as planned. However, asking a palace mate he thinks it will be switched to neutral venue.

Perhaps of more significance than where Leicester will play there next game is the admission from health secretary this morning that children are spreaders thus they are shutting schools down again from Thursday. Nothing wrong with that on its own but coming just a day after Education Sec. saying parents maybe fined if they don’t send kids back September it and thus by implication everything is hunky dory, increased bubble sizes etc.It must make parents , teachers etc start to wonder just how safe things really are

Feared the dreaded past few days, had increasingly less energy, although no other symptoms, so strange. i met a pal for a walk and a socially distanced beer on saturday, however by sunday my energy levels felt about 50 percent of what they normally are, so i just had a nap attributing it to 2 long journeys this weekend. However, since yesterday i've felt really lethargic. No other symptoms but just really drained. I'm on long term meds for arthritis and ive had this occasionally; possibly low iron, but the onset of it after a few months of being absolutely fine was so weird. Time will tell i guess! Lethargy by itself doesnt worry me too much, its if my temperature goes up or a cough develops that would be more of a concern.

I won't be bothering with iFollow. We're on WM following the Blues game and I think we're on one of the Talk Sport digital channels too. Radio's better than nothing, and it's free.

Leicester is an area with a lot of Asians, I think this is why they are suffering.
