Well it was on TV and an early kick off but still, 30 thousand for a derby game shows how Villa fans are finding it hard to take they are no longer challenging for the top four after the last 4 or 5 years.

Mcliesh has got a tough job getting the crowds back up at Villa park, especially with their lack of a midfield. They have defensive midfielder's and midfield forwards but their is a gap in between Petrov/Delph and Bent/Heskey and that needs filling.

The Wolves section was apparently quite empty aswell. But I think it proves how deluded the seals are now and are staying away as reality sets in

McLeish really didn't need a dull 0-0 draw with his reputation did he :)

I only go for the beer.

It was his fault if honest. His tactics are too negative and he uses hoofball far too much. I've mentioned it on this forum in the Wolves thread too, the last 10 minutes were a joke he just sat back.

End of the day people aren't going to pay £40-£45 quid a ticket if the game is on Sky.

sky will drive the prices down eventually because clubs wont be able to afford to stay afloat with half empty stadiums

They are still all wanting Mcliesh out, doesnt play good enough football. Despite the saviour Martin O'neil also played hoofball. Id love us to ruin their unbeaten run, but i think thry've got mancity away next

They have had a very good start to this season, even if they win the FA Cup this season, there will still be fans wanting him out.

Villa will never be successful whilst their fans have an over inflated oppinion of where they sit in the footballing hierachy.

The arrogant reaction following the appointment of McLeish as tarnished the club to the point where I believe somewhere during the season it will blow up again

Whilst I agree that Vile fans believe they are a massive club, fans opinions have no effect as to how the team perform, unless their opinions are vented at every game in booing their own players.
It is not the taking part, but the winning that counts.

I wouldnt be so sure, just look at Newcastle a few years ago with all the behind the scenes stuff that effected the players, I see a similar situation emerging a Villa (albiet fan unrest rather than boardroom unrest) once results start to turn they will implode I am sure of it

Is it any different to our fans "expecting" us to beat Swansea, Norwich, Fulham, Sunderland?

Thought they looked pretty poor yesterday as a whole to be honest.

I think if Bent's goals dry up, it's not impossible they will be looking over their shoulders toward the end of the season.

Of the 9 games they've played so far, they've played 6 of the current bottom 7, only managing one win against those sides, a win at home against Blackburn at Villa Park.  Of the other 3 games they've played so far, we beat them at their place, City totally walloped them and they drew with Newcastle.

I still very much doubt they'll go down, but we can dream. ;D

Was surprised at their lack of fight 2nd half. They clearly felt injustice of the Herd decision and was expecting a real battle 2nd half.

As Megson used to say playing 10 can be harder than 11 because everyone usually rallies and puts a shift in. Many of those Villa players didn't turn up yesterday.

I think they will draw to many games to get into Europe this season. They have a pretty small squad as well.

very true saying about the 10 men! also a lot of teams can take their foot off the pedal thinking it will be easier.
