The Maguire transfer is a classic example of a club with a lot of money focussing on one player for a position and a club in Leicester who were under no pressure to sell. If Man United could not find a defender at least his equal for £50m then they weren't trying very hard (Toby Alderweireld had a release clause of £25m that expired earlier this summer)

Scott Carson being lined up to go on loan to Man City. Doesn't say alot for their other keepers.

3rd keeper, will be on the bench at best for league and FA Cup games maybe getting the odd game in one of them. Purely there for his experience in the event of injuries to Emerson and Bravo

Norwich were the luckiest side ever last year, they will not survive this season. If Pukki  gets 8 I’ll 8 my hat.

I thought Spurs were off-colour today. They dominated, but the final ball before Eriksen came on was poor. 0-1 at half-time still flattered Villa, however.

Bar Heaton in goal, I fail to see where Villa have improved from last season. After a run of games Luiz may become an important player for them and Targett can come in for Taylor, both of which should see them become a little stronger. However, I still see a long hard season ahead and them finishing somewhere in the bottom five.

Villa were good first half, looked dangerous. Defended solidly overall, Mings is a great player. Tottenham stepped up second half and just ran through them, high tempo to the play, the introduction of Eriksen helped but it was pure domination, they just forced their way through which seemed to generate a great atmosphere.

I think they will be clearly below City and Liverpool again but I thought they were great to watch second half. It would be good if they could force a challenge but they always seem to stumble often at home against an unfancied team, but it was a great recovery which should give them confidence to really make that place a bit of a fortress for them.

I thought Squealish was bang average yesterday, and to see him getting mugged for the goal was wonderful...…

A good match to watch, the pressure from Tottenham at the end was excellent. Going to be a long season for them hopefully  ;D

Injured I think. Let's hope we make another attempt to sign him in January.

Leicester Wolves 0-0. Bit dissapointed in Leicester as they have some class players. One fantastic move started by Barnes and his cross should have won the game. Evans looks back to his best and his overhead kick shot went wide of Wolves goal. Credit though to Wolves defence, did a job similar to Millwall's yesterday.

Thought the wolves were unlucky to have the goal ruled out to be honest. I understand the new rules about handball but sometimes common sense has to be used. The ball was headed on to someone from about 6 inches away.
